Having stuck it out here for years purely on the hope of Sweet coming good I'd be livid to see it sold off.

I can't remember specifically, I'm sure others could, but I seem to recall SOH saying that spinning off the other companies was partly to enable funds to be raised to develop Sweet without dilution. In all honesty to though, I could have completely got the wrong end of the stick on that one

This is a positive move imo.

The aim for Opti and the carrot for me has always been getting Sweet into products. If I had any idea how long that would take, I’d have been out years ago at over a £1 and would have bought back in sometime in the past year. Without the benefit of hindsight though, I just stuck around and got exasperated as Opti’s stake in Skin was sold off to pay for seemed like a dream that wasn’t going to happen with Sweet.

The recent update on Sweet has given me a great deal of renewed optimism about the likelihood of Sweet finding its way to the shelves in branded products. With this in mind, I see the decision to raise money by selling Skin stock instead of a placing here, as SOH saying that he thinks that Opti is a better place for capital than Skin. That’s not to say that Skin is a bad investment, just that, with his inside knowledge and in-depth knowledge of both companies, he is choosing to move capital from one to the other.

I have grown annoyed with him on occasion and have expressed that here, but one thing I have always appreciated is his reticence to water down my shareholding by issuing stock in Opti.

Should Sweet finally jump through the last couple of hoops and see itself on shelves, his tactic will be seen as a master stroke, especially by AIM investors who are used to seeing their holdings in companies reduced to a fraction of their previous strength through the constant issuing of new shares.

On a side note, ADVFN is an asylum. I used it originally years ago but only as a viewer. Then there was some sort of private board set up which I obviously wasn’t a part of as I was only a viewer, and any decent posters left which meant that only the crazies remained.

Been here before with good companies with a good product. I’m invested here because I believe the company might be on to something but anyone who is all in and has no fears simply hasn’t been stung in pharma before.

As for the share price, if you believe in the company then you should welcome dips as opportunities to accumulate more shares. It’s only those who don’t really believe this company has a solid product who fear a share price drop.

I’m in for a few and will develop a plan over the weekend for what levels to add at if it continues to fall.

Breaking below the level of a descending triangle is not a thing to be taken lightly though, and having had my pants pulled down more than a few times, I won’t be taking it light,y here. Each to their own though.

Looks like this has broken below the base of a descending triangle. I'll be looking to average down considerably in the mid 50s if it follows the technical suggestion and recovers at that price.

It certainly isn’t the case that sugar companies have a monopoly on the cereal business. Cereal companies are pretty big players themselves in that market and they are free to choose their suppliers according to whatever suits their business interests. Even a fraction of 1% of their products choosing Sweetbio, launches this business into the stratosphere

In that time Opti included two other companies that were later spun off. You are pretending that the £1 SP was all about Sweet. It wasn't. The SP back then including a number of different businesses and products all under one roof.

The Opti price today reflects multiple products under Opti, Opti's shareholding in Skin and PBX, and the new de-risked opportunity in Sweet.

Posts like yours are misleading to newer investors who aren't aware of the whole picture.

Feels like there's a big order to fill. Someone is building a stake.

Got to wonder how many people inultiple companies are aware of the situation and the likelihood of this being in big name products soon. That's a lot of people

I think this jump is based on the RNS which confirmed that it has been a long, arduous process of comprehensive testing and that the partners are still on board as we come to the end of that process. It shows that Sweet has been successful so far and is much closer to market. The re-rate makes complete sense in the light of that as it has been

considerably de-risked

I only own what I own because of my Optis stock. If this was onAIM, Iwoild have bought a good bit more at the depressed price it has been.

I suspect that goes for a lot of other people too.

The day this is listed on a proper exchange, the market cap will see a terrific rise IMO

Shandy. I'm a very long term holder but what was in the RNS was a material change. Previously we knew that there were interested parties but a lot of hoops needed to be jumped through. Now we know that they are still serious and that we are coming towards the end of a stringent, two-year process. That is a huge difference and has de-risked the product considerably hence the rise.

Before that announcement we had no idea of timescales or success. Now we know it has been successful to this point and huge companies are still on board.

The market cap in light of this is still really small making more growth in the SP almost inevitable. Allowing for the normal profit taking along the way of course

You're absolutely right to make that decision given the way you feel about it. I can understand totally having been here for since the original rise from 30p to a pound and then alllllllll the way back down to a price that seemed inconceivable.

The carrot for me has always been Sweet though and I lack the discipline you have so when it sank to 8p I averaged down quite substantially despite saying I was never sinking another penny in.

Let's see, yesterday's RNS was very positive in my opinion, the reference to how long this process takes and the stringent stipulations that huge companies place on suppliers gave me heart as it appears that we have jumped through nearly all of these hoops. Getting picked up by one is going to have life - changing consequences for many involved in this company particularly long-suffering holders. That's why I'm still here. The punt, and the reward to risk equation has just increased in our favour

I can't see that. Opti still has a significant stake in two companies that generate revenues. That alone means that I made a mistake not averaging down at 6.5p. I did average down at 8p though despite saying I wouldn't add a few weeks ago.

If it does fall to 5p I'm going to aggressively average down because as unhappy as I am with the company at the moment, that price would represent ridiculous value

Large volume the last few days, back to normal today. I think we've found a floor. Sweet entering the market and us buying it from our supermarket shelves is when we really have something on our hands

The only potential catalyst is for Sweet to start being used in mainstream products as a sugar replacement.

SOH hasn't bought in over 2 years. No director has bought in over a year and it's been a long while since any director has invested anything significant.

He clearly isn't anywhere near as optimistic as he purports to be in interviews

I would say though Mol that there is a big difference between what that 8p represented then and what it represents now.

The value of OPTI now is based entirely on its holdings in Pbx and skin. The plan seems to be to sell down the holdings in those two companies in order to keep the lights on at OPTI. At some point you run out of things to sell and the lights get turned off forever.

I’m sorry to say but the company is starting to feel like that. Every time I think it has hit rock bottom it just bursts right through the floor and keeps descending.

Great ingredient but it's put into substandard products so they don't sell. There isn't enough repeat custom, and there's no word of mouth.

Try a little experiment. Go into a few H&B and ask them where our products are. In my experience of doing this they rarely know. Then ask them if they sell many and you won't be surprised at the response.

In fairness most of the shops I've done this in are in London which may have a higher staff turnover.

I cannot for the life of me see how our employees fill a 40hr work week and what they produce in that time. The whole endeavour has a moribund feel to it.

I'm in because I'm long past the time when there was any point in getting out as I've said before but at these prices you must feel that we are on the edge of not existing. In fact, Opti's only purpose seems to be to spend money that other companies earn.

What really dampens my enthusiasm for that as an imminent possibility Aquae is the recent departure of René. I can’t see for the life of me why he would leave on the cusp of that as it is the opportunity of a lifetime for him. Happy to be wrong though as I could easily be missing something
