They've been engaging with potential partners for far longer than 5 months. We don't need any more dilution. We need a deal. They've had long enough to sort that out on the back of ODD. It's time they delivered some value instead of constantly kicking the can down the road.

This is from the fundraiser back in March 2024:

If you look at the update from 9th April they also mention other ILD's apart from IPF. Maybe they plan to target different deals for different indications (assuming they get the first deal post the post and get some money behind them)

It could be nothing. However RNS's, particularly periodical reports, are like prospectuses to advertise the company to the outside world. Wording is usually done very carefully which is why it surprised me. To be honest, 6 months ago I would have welcomed them saying that they were open to discussion with others, it would have been a sign that we weren't willing to be pushed around.

It just seems a bit late now, unless they know something else. We are not negotiating from a position of strength because we don't have much money in the pot. The COMP positive opinion is a massive endorsement but it doesn't change that. However, having competing suitors bidding for a deal would.

My own hope is that final ratification is the catalyst that will generate a good market reaction and hopefully result in a deal that will benefit all.

We shall see.

Not entirely sure what the undertone of that is. More vague and strange changes of language that cause uncertainty which is more likely to drive the price down rather than up?

What are we supposed to glean from that? Are the current talks failing at this late stage. You would have thought rattification would be the final condition to sealing a deal after all this time. Haven't they been engaged for over a year now? If we are on the cusp then why spook a partner who is about to sign up by saying you're willing to initiate talks with others?

Or have they been approached by someone else who can offer a better deal and may be interested in taking things forward more quickly?

One thing is for sure. We don't have enough money to delay any longer and we have seen the price drop significantly in the past couple of days. Announcing further dilution now would be a further slap in the face for long term shareholders.

Jiving, I get your point. No one was suggesting you were making accusations about inside trading or that any other wrong-doing was taking place.

When I said "But you were the one arguing against Jivings suggestion" I actually meant "But you were the one arguing against any suggestion". Your moniker slipped in because the original exchange had been between you and Soup. I didn't mean anything by it.

The point I was trying to make was that trading on the outcome of the orphan confirmation can't be argued to be public knowledge on the one hand and then inside information on the other. That's just flip-flopping to try and win an argument.

We know that in early 2024 the company said that getting orphan status was the key to getting a partnership deal and that they were talking to potentials. As the key condition, my point was that if you can argue that the outcome was public knowledge then you could argue that the key condition had been met and that any partnership could be made public too.

That's assuming everything else for that deal was already agreed (as they have had over a year to do that while waiting for the key condition to be met).

Then you could also argue that the 'partners' could have seized that opportunity to come out of the shadows, fill their boots, get a head start and throw some weight behind this great news!
