The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
I have the feeling we won't ever see an RNS relating to a car model, ever. Particularly more so under the new strategy path we are on.
So just the two MOUs in the next six months and hopefully the new investor this week. Can you tell I've been invested 7 disappointing years? :P
$200 for those thermal sensors from FLIR and yet the difference in detection is clearly vast. Madness. I was expecting them to quote 4 figures.
Also note the pedestrians wearing white in daylight get knocked down in 2 out of 3 tests for the Model 3.... Wow. Nice to know Tesla have come along way since the first fatality in 2016 when the car failed to distinguish the side of the white truck against sunlight. Meanwhile FSD infused social media users promote the tech to all.
Cant see us announcing F150 by name now unless we've had a huge shift in our disclosure policy. Plus it's not like there's going to be any monetary value attached either.
As for the news today; pleasantly surprised. Despite the dilution I think it's fair to say we are now funded to profitability regardless of what happens now. Can't wait to see who it is and with any luck Lombard will soon be increasing again to retain their 20% again.
I imagine they'll have a recurring licensing model applied to this sector too if it's anything like fleet or auto. So likely that.
Now who's to guess how long SEE takes to get these MOUs into monetary contractd... 30 days or 30 months? As we lever our IP licensing rights across the sector's no doubt we'll see a fair few of these over the next few years so be interesting how long we take to convert.
Yeah just seen that LOL.
If it is them congratulating Volvo on using DMS that they know is from a competitor I don't get that. Odd way to play this game. Maybe they know SEE don't announce **** so they may as well jump on some for some extra hype to their SP. Could be genius ha.
Paul take note... When Dacia announce DMS plans next year congratulate them-to-f*ck!
I won't lie I needed that today from Colin. Interesting snippet RE Qualcomms original tie up with VW was influenced in part due to its 5G leadership. I seem to recall that was the case with GM too. Now look at them, impressive.
Not too concerned about the korean extension to be fair, but its still design wins with monetary value attached. I also believe if that was us announcing a small extension we'd also see the same rises, so again not too concerned about their rise in SP either; its as expected.
Do you guys believe we've just stopped announcing DMS related wins now full stop now then? Genuinely interested. I convinced myself of late that was the case, but I still question it from time to time.
The last xilinx zynq wins for example, 5 of them for ADAS related tech. One of them im assuming is the subaru stereo external vision deal we all saw and read about. But if one of those other wins was DMS related whats your opinion on why we wouldnt of announced it?
Regardless of the SEYE camp, If we announce a win from the last RFQ round between now and Oct 30th then grand, but if we don't then that means its likely we did not win anything from those RFQs, even this far down the line. That also would mean it has been 14 months since our last design win. That worries me and instantly draws focus back on our strategy shift again and reasons behind it.
Yes plenty of positives around the rest of the business, but if we can't win basic DMS RFQs that will only delay what we all want; an upshift/re-rating to fair value and as ISB says, its getting a tad annoying now given even the most positive of us here thought, and stated frequently, that 2020-2021 were going to be the glory days.
They have won business from BMW, Audi, Hyundai / Kia, Nissan / Mitsu / Renault, JLR, Geely / Polestar, GM. Not sure who else I'm missing but one thing is for sure, they have to be respected. They seem to be winning extended business too.
To be fair I think the mantle of safety is still very much with them. After all they were the first to promise intoxication detection in all their models by a certain year I have forgotten. No one else has done that.
And again look at their safety research institutes and links to universitys globally, for many many years now.
Thanks guys for your input, it's appreciated. I never had the best impression regarding his capacity for truly understanding the technology. The way he writes about it is almost informal gossip at times which I guess gives more clues.
Have put my mind at rest a little anyway! Thank you.
