I noted there were a few more reports stating Aisin are supplying the DMS for these models (last week there only seemed to be one).
I think this makes sense as this system would have been developed pre TRI-AD (Now Woven). So although Denso and Aisin both had their own DMS products and expertise, the Woven jv has evolved to develop the next generational adas systems (driver monitoring included). This is where we come in I hope.
I posted a couple of linkedins of their guys developing the DMS at woven on here last week. Interesting snippets.
Wouldn't assume we have toyota just yet. Yet to see any further clues other than the Denso logo drop some time ago. No reference to TRI and it was before woven planet rebranding. Did note there were ground up engineering references to OMS on some developers linkedin profiles so I'm not getting excited just yet on this one.
Couple of TRI>woven that are working on their OMS development.

Seems TRI officially is no more as of January. Restructured under a holding company, Woven Holdings, and segmented off.

Here's the page on their OMS, nothing major given away.
Also a couple of jobs for Guardian advertised atm which may give a clue or two.
We know Denso and Aisin have both independently provided diff generations of DMS to Toyota as we discussed on here before, there is little chance of them continuing their own developments alongside TRIs existence surely. They have co developed for a reason. Just wish we've had listed TRI on our partner slide rather than Denso if so but I guess that would be too obvious eh.
Another source in japanese claims its the co development company TRI-AD which Denso is apart of and doesnt single out Aisin.
They've been co-developing it since 2018 and we are at least in with one of the partners in that period so fingers crossed.
The tier 1 is Aisin apparently, not Denso (who we know we are officially working with now).

Make of that what you will.
Does make you wonder how the insurance companies feel about this. No doubt there may be some sort of disclaimer about informing your insurance provider if signed up to FSD series.
Bottom line though it perfectly sums what can happen when regulation does not keep up with technology. No wonder NTSB is getting twitchy.
Is this the first time we've had such a statement?
'The net proceeds of the Purchase further strengthens the Company's balance sheet and is expected to fund the business through to profitability'
I have a feeling we'll see the next rise sooner than we thought. One last top up in the new tax year please Paul and then let rip. Splendid.
Sounds like we did approximately ~500 fleet installs for the month of December.
I imagine we are past 27k as of today. Not too shabby. We know we had 29.5k due as of November, so assuming we are probably past 30k signed up by now if we can keep hitting those installations numbers we should hopefully be seeing 30k installs by June.
I noticed the Mach E reviews on YouTube (by UK peeps) all had the sensor quite clearly on the steering wheels flashing away but almost no one mentioned it. Seem to recall they are activating it next year or something so I assumed they'd given the reviewers a heads up what it is and why it's not ready.
Good spot that. Certainly looks interesting.
I'm sure JC will be able to confirm! I cannot remember if the optics were included in the unit from the patent information, but in the video that top 'lug' does look like it could / does contain optics. Which would make it a competitor to the comma.ai crowd.
So in conclusion;
- looks like we are very much ahead of the pack still, and by some margin
- we seem to be working, already in these early stages, with some fantastic partners who are look set to take a significant position in the industry.
- it could be likely we be left alone to fulfil true potential due to the wide scope of application our technology applies to, at this point in time anyway.
- we are an equal to qualcomm, didntcha know
- this new 3 pillar strategy is quite clearly a stroke of genius and is the beginning of a new era for us
"Because driver monitoring has a fundamental safety role in multiple transport verticals beyond automotive, such as aviation. Because buying Seeing Machines would up-end its corporate structure at a critical time for the automotive industry. Because Qualcomm views Seeing Machines as an equal.
Just as Arm showed us two decades ago with an IP licensing model for CPU cores, sometimes the most empowering business strategy is for multiple competing parties to share and embrace a technology, not for one party to own it outright. Arm’s main asset was its independence and allowing itself to be purchased by Softbank was one of the greatest acts of corporate irresponsibility I have witnessed in my career."
