Firering Strategic Minerals: From explorer to producer. Watch the video here.
Very interesting thanks TLS. Was just thinking the same reading that release pack; I look forward to the top spec Plus reviews!
It's certainly all pointing our direction at the moment, and it's positive to see a number of cases now where our competitors had established a clear entry advantage... And now potentially have completely lost to our technological prowess.
As red says this no doubt would have been heavily influenced by the NCAP regulations that entered into the fray between then and now.
On the other hand, SEYE demonstrated with Valeo at CES 2018, and Valeo's investor presentation very clearly state their customers and design wins (ID3 included):

On a side note, supporting SEE sneaking in; the DMS marketing from Valeo does seem very 1st gen/basic. Take below for example (which by the way probably answers the PSA conundrum discussed on here not long ago) :

Thats not us.
So again, it would be another sure sign of who will dominate should SEE have snuck in here for the ID3 considering its clearly got a strong valeo/siemens platform.
Two big reasons I think we are seeing an increased PR effort;
1. Get three pillars ready first. Until we can fit into anyone and everyone's technology platform let's keep things ticking under the radar. This is Game Changer v2.0 so once we are ready, we can start some momentum around it.
2. Michael Brown has now settled onto the board and represents our largest shareholding. He'll want to be pushing the company and asking the right questions as to why we are significantly undervalued at this point in time.
And following on from that article John posted, I'd love to know who had the vision years ago to change the direction to a licensing model. Maybe Edwards and Ken? Was definitely pre-PM looking at the event timeline.
On a similar side note, it also re emphasizes a point I keep coming back to; the brains of Edwards, Rougeaux and Lenne is worth our mcap in itself let alone anything else of monetary value.
" ..believe this firm could easily find itself part of a larger group by the time the regulations come into force. "
To be fair I wouldn't read much into it. It's a bit of a 'well, no **** sherlock' comment as if these chaps have just cottoned on. Regulation is hardballed from 2022-2024 for the mainstream isn't it? I think you would have been hard pressed to find anyone that believes we will still be independent by the end of that period.
Good publicity by all means, and no doubt we will be increasing the size of the target on our backs until we get there (hence the marketing), but I don't think anything is 'imminent' imo. Bosch had that chance early on, became too greedy and look how that ended.
At least another 12 months of blue sky I believe. Let's see.
Another potential link regarding Toyota...
Denso announced they have started working with Qualcomm on their ****pit systems funnily enough a few days after we announced to the world we are in bed with them too. 7 months later it turns out we can be integrated into Qualcomms ****pit platform. O RLY?

One other angle we havnt mentioned yet regarding the Qualcomm win and no doubt another factor in their 18 wins already... They are a big, if not the biggest player in the 5G market along with all their patents for it. Suddenly makes for an huge plus point IMO when considering the platform for OEMs that they also have the connectivity side of things sorted too.
I checked their yearly results format to see if they had a lovely projected design win chart like our friends veoneer but alas, nothing that I could find.
They showcased the exact same product that we announced yesterday with Mitsubishi mind, so I'm going to have a wild guess that they are at least one of them ;)
Toyota don't leak a thing, and the fact they were the first pioneers to implement DMS tech it's surprising how little they have done to build on that lead many years ago.
Also add in to the fact their culture (and vast resources) to develop in house etc... That's exactly why I watch that situation with the most interest. Toyotas direction with DMS will speak volumes and will be a huge marker significantly overshadowing when BMW dropped SEYE.
He researched when it was in his interest (he was back in). Unfortunately wasn't that bright to hide it that well, or at least have zero shame. It was he that uncovered seeing machines BMW and Mercedes manuals though, which as you can probably imagine, 3 or 4 years ago was absolutely golden and clearly highlighted the direction we were heading. Probably the best uncovering ever to be discovered on this board imo.
Thats quite something considering how new they are to the industry. Shows how well aligned smartphone tech platforms are to automotive applications, which doesn't surprise tbh. Impressive.
Interestingly Qualcomm took $5 billion in business in 2019 from automotive customers wanting to upgrade their cloud connectivity and infotainment systems to give you a sense of scale. They also demonstrated this exact platform (3rd gen) with mitsubishi at CES.
