Rainbow Rare Earths Phalaborwa project shaping up to be one of the lowest cost producers globally. Watch the video here.
Some of you may have spotted it but the caption from their tech lead says:
"I like Smart Eye as it's a very high tech company. We're trying to understand human behaviour which is a hard challenge. In order to do that, we need advanced algorithms with high technical depth."
Crying out for an absolute hero to reply recommending they speak to a company called Seeing Machines...
Viktor would have a small sh**!
Saying it how it is as per.

Now might be a good time to rewatch the classic Lenne interview last year which says it all ;)

We won't be selling out pre profitability IMO. And then by then our price would have multibagged anyway as that was essentially the only thing holding us back given the actual tech looks still very much to be ahead of the pack.
Its clear the management team have long seen this coming too and no doubt already have a strategy on how to handle this once we have 'arrived'. Guess that was always in our favour and has obviously been hinted at a few times previously; management actually had the benefit of hindsight for once given their expertise and involvement in developing the regulation a long time ago when everyone was still fixated by AV.
Agreed. It's a good point and no doubt one of the major factors on developing this new strategy. Everyone wants our tech but no one wants a kingpin, hmm what about an ultra flexible licensing model to conveniently and easily suit any hardware or software requirement across the entire industry, including the chip boys? The more diluted we are in the ecosystem, the less risk we are to all those within.
Genius really.
Anyone else pick up on the statement that it's Veoneer doing the heavy lifting for Toyota's ADAS platform? The same Veoneer who seem to only have one DMS supplier, again also referenced indirectly in the article...
If the acclaimed project revenues from SEYE for their BMW DWs are anything to go by they will be in barely any. Probably as the tech is 1. An expensive premium option and 2. Pants I doubt the figures will ever improve for them before the latter SEE models come out. By then the regs should be in place for hands free driving so exciting times.
I remember the ultra conservative KK highlighted 2021-2023 as the magic years ( this was back in 2016 so any hope and dreams were killed off and patience was suddenly required in ever rising levels) and now we are on the brink of it, I can see why.

Can see a nice close up of the main cluster screen in this one, with the eye tracking integrated nicely at the top.
Also more info on the augmented reality stuff from 14:30 onwards, really interesting.
Below vid, from about 3.40 in, you can see the augmented reality heads up display which is using the eye tracking to project the display in the drivers eye line as he drives.

Also the instrument cluster has funky 3D projections using eye tracking too. Great to see the first of many more advanced uses of our tech. I can see why PMs excited to get this over the line.
Here you go. Xilinx decided to help us out with some marketing as we never bother;

The RNS was from Oct 2017 and has been heavily associated ever since by the usual bridgade (Bardren and Menon included).
Not to mention the Xilinx marketing director the other day let it slip publicly for the first time too. I'll try and dig that out again.
Doubt many will even allow it to be turned off. Sounds like it's either going to be Volvo (2021) or BMW (?) to have all models covered by the tech. And Volvo have stated multiple times you won't be able to turn it off.
Quite enlightening reading some of their threads. Many reporting autopilot issues such as random / phantum braking and random swerving / hitting things. There seems to be a growing awareness of more sophisticated systems using driver facing cameras too. A common theme also apparent; they don't seem to trust autopilot much. Always keep a hand on the wheel in case it does something and large expectations / hopes that the next software update will resolve it.
Quite eye opening really, they really are live guinea pigs!

The whole line up offers it. That's an X7 and a year old. If it was SEYE, theyda claimed it a long time ago. And it's not us. So who the frig is it. Harman have only ever claimed to be working with us and SEYE, no one else. Is it a different T1?
