Miranda Levy on comments section of Telegraph post now, anyone with a Telegraph account able to ask questions?

It also says..."Miranda Levy will be in the comments section of this story to discuss the anti-body test at 4pm today"....anyone got a Telegraph account to monitor/ask questions later at 4pm?

With the importance of making good antibody tests widely available for the 'unlock' phases it can't be long to wait now for two pieces of news.
The first is PHE approval of the ELISA lab test which must surely be very soon.
The other is the RTC POC test, which if we get the design frozen RNS will be a huge achievement because they would not do that without meeting MHRA requirements, so would be a very big thing. They can't be far away from that piece of news either, not with the weight of the RTC and Gov behind it.

As published by Mologic, sensitivity at least 99% and specificity at least 98%. Exceeds minimum MHRA rquirements.

Dibs, yes I agree, solid support and I really believe the two bits of news on the two tests we have been waiting will hit soon....the traders feed on the crumbs, investors eat the cake.

I see mention of the RTC POC test that we are awaiting news on, which could arrive at any time considering its importance, but do not forget that we are also just waiting on the ELISA lab based test to get PHE approval - these ELISA lab based test exceed the minimum MHRA requirement so should not be any issues and I expect this approval to be due at any time this week in advance of the impending 'unlock' phases that the Gov are currently planning and which should be announced formally by the PM next week-end.

Flushfrank, just need to correct you on your ODX/ACVT medium risk bullet point. ODX could be considered low risk as they are working with Mologic to manufacture the ELISA lab based antibody test. This test exceeds the specification published by the MHRA (>98% sensitivity and specificity), has been validated by two other labs already and is just waiting for approval from PHE. The ELISA test is already in manufacture, as reported by Mologic, so should be all system go on that front very shortly once PHE approval is given (very likely as exceeds minimum MHRA spec),despite the headlines on Roche antibody test as the world needs as many quality tests as it can get from any vendor.

AVCT are not developing antibody tests, they are developing antigen test kits so are a ponential new entry in the market for testing if someone has the the active virus, rather than antibody which tests if you have had the virus.

Stars, thanks. To help with you request for links, here is a good link to the MHRA minimum specifications for antibody testing...sensitivity > 98%, specificity >98%. ELISA lab tests already exceed these, just waiting for PHE approval.

- antibody tests will be used regularly by individals to check they still have antibodies in your blood.
- the ELISA lab antibody test will alsi check the level of antibidys in your blood (like the Roche test does)
-many arguments I've seen on this board today make more sense than yours.
- we will use all available lab machines to carry out lab based antibody testing, not just Roche machines. There will not be enough capacity with just one quality supplier. Just like the antigen testing where we have PrimerDesign, Roche and Randox bearing the load for antigen testing between them.
-Lives are at stake, couldn't agree more, which is why we cannot simply put all the testing eggs in one basket.
-Backlash on the government if they say we are only going to use Roche, when there other quality antibody tests available.

Are you actually invested in ODX or planning to invest?

Bluemoon, yes, the world needs loads and loads of quality antibody test kit. I am not concerned that Roche are saying they can produce 100m tests by the end of this year (I called it fabulous news earlier today) because that will still not be enough. If Roche will be expanding their manufacturing to support that need, then by the end of the year so will ODX be expanding their manufacturing. The world needs antibody tests that run on all types lab machines, not just Roche lab machines upon which the Roche tests can only run.

Starbucks, I fear you are trying to mislead people. Roche will not be supplying all the antibody tests for the UK or any other developed country. They run on Roche machines only and that capacity will not be enough to satisfy antibody testing needs in many countires, including the UK. Their will be many anitbody test suppliers in the UK, Roche being one, ODX the other, both quality.

BTW, that was for the POC test destined for Africa. We do not know yet the specs they have achieved from the RTC POC tests.

Starbucks, your facts are incorrect. Diecr from the news update from Mologic on the 17th April the spec they have for their ELISA lab based test is Sensitivity 99% and Specificity 98% (>10 days after diagnosis). The Mologic test information are the rapid test POC tests that Mogic in their update of 1st May is 98% sensitivity at days 14-21 and specificity of 96%.

Please be careful of your facts everyone, it is easy to get consfused.

100 million a year from Roche? Fabulous, and by that time I expect that ODX will have also increased their capacity to manufacture antibody tests to meet the demand. It is clear to me that no single company on their own will win the war against this virus. This is not a clear 'winner takes all' environment, there's too much quality testing needed now and into the future.

aj242, yes, absolutely. But I think more than a decent amount from ODX. Folks (including poor old bzn, who makes me chuckle sometimes - he is so obvious, its unbelievable) should also remember that Roche tests can only run on particular Roche machines. There are probably plenty of these in the UK, and even all over the world, but not enough to meet future antibody testing demand. Other antibody lab tests (ELISA) such as from ODX can be done on all those other non-Roche machines in the lab to fulfill the testing needs. Bzn made many (garbled) factual errors this morning, he hasn't done his own research and just read the headlines, so all I would say to genuine investors is do your own research to allow you to sift through the real facts, bypassing the blatant fear, uncertainty and doubt, so that you can make your own well considered decisions for your own investments.

SneakyPete, don't want to comment on NCYT too much here as they are not competitors in ODX space but they can run there antigen tests on at least 3 different lab machines which are common in EU laboratories...

Abbot's antibody test runs on their proprietary Abbott's ARCHITECT i1000SR and i2000SR laboratory instruments. So that will automatically limit their capability somewhat, if you don't have an Abbot lab instrument you can't run their test.

fjones, I expect the Gov to get cracking now with the antibody study they desparately need to embark upon. This is going to rely on what I expect to be the 'gold standard' ELISA antibody test, developed by Mologic/ODX and for which we should have visible PHE approval imminently. This 'gold standar' lab test is going to be critical bith for the study mentioned and also for planning any 'unlock' strategy over the next few months. Previous planing has already aco****ed for 46000 ELISA tests/day manufacturing and from the Mologic news update they have already started the manufacturing process. So I believe we are T minus 10, and counting down.....

Tring, this was on a flipchart scribble, so down to the guy/gal with the black pen in their hand and how they wanted to represent 'Regional Test Centre' and 'Moble Test Centre' (the army) on that flipchart - RTC/M seems quite reasonable to me.
