I agree with that - Certainly wouldn't want to be out from mid-August on. Would also expect a rise as we move into the month. Who knows if it will rocket like last time up to 30p however? Can't tell.

I agree - the 2 news items that are coming up will be:
1. Spud of the second well - maybe by the end of next week - don't anticipate a huge hike here is any as that is 35 days away.
2. End of August, when Heron is revealed!
I would expect it to creep up in the next few weeks in the run up to this - maybe up to 11p or so in the run up to Heron's results. But there might be some turbulence in the next week or so -as we've seen today.

I agree with that - I think Petro China and its existing, under-utilized infrastructure out there will be a key asset in unlocking value for Matd. Very exciting set up we have here.....

Cheers - I think most holders now in will be looking for what comes after the spud - the only impact on SP that will have (I reckon), is incremental increases that we've seen so far. I don't think we're going to see a big increase on spud alone - so I'm thinking the next biggest news will be TD in 40 days after spud - mid-August. Happy to be wrong if it's going up however.

So what does anyone think the SP could be if Heron proves positive at 20mmbo? 1 barrel is currently $60 or so, so it would plainly be a massive increase in the company's market cap but the figures seem to be a massive upside that is to me, wishful thinking. Any thoughts on getting to a SP via these methods and if they hold any water? Cheers.

It was the same in Xcite Energy when that started to go up. I got in the in the mid-60s and rode it all the way to £4. This has the same feeling in a way. Fingers crossed.

Yep agree it all depends on the success. Too early for any SP predictions. What do people think if the Red Deer one came off - that's a transformaative value with massive potential.

Afternoon. I've been in Matd on and off over the last few years - but this time looks very good indeed. One thing that I would look for comment on are peoples' thoughts on whether Petro China could put in a bid for Matd if these drills come off. What do you think? On the Proactive Investor presentation Mike said they are in discussions with Matd about data for Heron, and furthermore that it is the Petro China's refineries they will use to process the product as these refineries are running below capacity as Petro China is exhausting its current wells. So, does anyone think that Petro China might take on Matd's oil fields to make the most of their refineries and infrastructure out there? (And providing the wells are successful).
