North West Nigeria is a more politically stable area to put an oil pipeline transporting oil from Niger to Kaduna in Nigeria...all the rest of northern Nigeria is troubled by Boko H! Niger State would provide most of the access through Nigeria, there is a short route through another Nigerian state to the north of it from Niger. If pipeline route to Kaduna is built, Niger's oil can export through Nigerian ports. This is a much more preferable situation to trying to export it across Northern Africa to Mediterranean!

So it's not just me then wanting clarity from Tanzanian govt. Yes talk is cheap but my money is not! (at least to me). I would love to be back investing but Magufuli is still worrying me with his talk. This weekend he is getting together with other Neyere-worshippers to celebrate Neyereism and who knows what they'll come up with next! I know Tanzania's future depends on getting investment and foreigner's expertise drilling out the gas and they DO need reassurance that their investment will be safe. We've all put our hands in our pockets and risked our own money so that Tanzania could find out if it had gas which it happily has done, but we are not getting the right messages from increasingly crazy Magufuli who really needs to wake up to modern reality or retire (with or without an expensive dam named after himself). Get those gas contracts signed, stop messing about, get that Host Government Agreement in place, stop kidding yourselves that locals can dig up high pressure gas with a bucket and spade! it would take them more than ten years to learn about drilling gas safely and properly and even that is being optimistic more like at least 20 years of experience needed. It's not going to work, better to get people jobs in factories which will work. And stop pretending we've cheated on taxes....get accountants into the country it's ridiculous they hardly have any...and they expect companies to bank in-country! and oppressing free speech, democracy and genuine statistics is just plain silly - get real!!!.... and hurry up about it.....(rant over)

they seem to have tested AM very thoroughly now so if she's heading in to dock they will open up her gear system to see where the contact points are on the gears and if all is well she should be awaiting sign-off on paperwork and fuelling up and getting ready to go...however long that takes. Hope that it the case

once sea trials done they have to open up the gears to look at contact points on the gears...does this mean heading back to harbour or can they do this outside? delightful just to see it move :-)

Tanzania doesn't yet have a 'Host Government Agreement' in place to reassure investors that govt must honour deals. They recently cleared the way in law for govt to grab/nationalise the gas if it wants to. The 'Arusha Declaration' Magufuli wants to revive states plan to have major means of economy in Tanzania hands. It is fair to say that the Netherlands deal was on unfair terms and ending it was understandable but the way forward is still unclear on how the LNG will proceed now that they have upset the Dutch. Zubairs won't like the current situation with no clarity on LNG, the govt stated recently they're 'not in a hurry' re. HGA. I said before that I'm not in AEX at the moment for reason of political risks. I'm not deramping, just looking after my Aminexers. Do keep an eye on the political situation and don't be over-exposed portfolio-wise here
