Friday's explanation to my question (don't know much about the technical side of these things so very appreciative!) .....just another little clarification needed: so the FPSO goes out (weather permitting) and hooks up to the floating buoy, FPSO loads up oil and stores in her tanks, DP2 shuttle loads up from FPSO and runs back and forth with loads of oil (thereby offloading FPSO as it produces, eliminating a costly constant raising and lowering of buoy that would be required if FPSO herself were to offload to port?).....also What does 'DP2' stand for?

it would take for a FPSO to be filled up with oil?

WOULDN'T WANT TO BE OUT OF THIS........over the next three weeks minimum, weather permitting :-(

After 2020 the Supermajors will need to increase spending. Wood Mackenzie recently warned Big Oil and large independents that they might have trouble with reserve replacement and production level maintenance in the next decade because of the price slump and the frugal approach to investments after it. 'Companies have been cherry picking the best greenfield conventional projects in their portfolios for development. But there's not enough new high-quality projects entering the pre-FID funnel to replace those that have left'. In the next 12 year large oil companies would need to add 16 million bpd to their combined daily production to be able to respond to demand and replace depleted deposits. This means several hundred new projects that cannot all be in the U.S. shale patch.

I'm in Hurricane, heads-up to you here that HUR's (now back from Dubai, overhauled and strengthened for weather resistance) FPSO will be back in Shetland for first oil in about a week or two. Currently popping in to Rotterdam to remove the steel plating and reattach turret which will take about a week then weather permitting plans to head straight out to plug into floating buoy for well test. Share price starting to move up. As for SDX, like it and follow Malcy's Bucket list posts re. he thinks it's very good value. Still waiting to see what deals you will get and if any cash raise involved, but may be interested in this share in near future.

we will get to hear an update on the deal.....at least we should hear soon about well testing. Share price could be better oil price not really relevant to this share due to low cost production and we're definitely oversold at moment

Hi Happy To Learn, glad to hear you agree. I am also in SAVP which is a cracking share but currently suffers from only a few trades (although they are more serious holders, 80% institutional holders) which are a bit range bound at the moment having been pummelled recently along with the other oilies it's also undervalued and soon to start production. Any other serious 'invest and hold' / 'trade 5 to 10% range' people are welcome to join me over there and we can get the sp moving better? it has very low cost production of $1 per barrel of oil which they can sell at around $5 so not affected by oil price in reality, debt free too. I will stay here a bit to see if we get excitement for first oil meantime, but must say HUR's overdone daily trade pattern is off-putting.

Still keeping an eye on this share. RNS shows that Zubairs are still keen which is good (I was expecting them to extend, didn't think it would be sorted by end November). The fact that they are being patient is a very good sign. The only worry is still the Tanzanian govt. incompetence and indecision, it is not Jay's fault, tempting as it is to blame him although it is still puzzling and needs explaing why Jay hasn't yet sorted KN stuck valve - if he did it would provide at least some excitement in yet another wait - I think Aminex would qualify for the Guinness Book of Records on making shareholders wait

It's not the oil price that's moving this share price, it's people....frankly the oil price can do loop the loops for all it really matters to this share....the point is we are about to start producing soon and are undervalued anyway.....if people stopped all the silly short trades on a daily basis and started buying and holding steady the share price would go up instead of being pummelled to nothing just because it's run up to Christmas and people are greedy. You have to put in some effort to get rewarded... we would all do much better and it would attract other buyers rather than put them off

most modern boilers control units operate remotely but DON'T need to use the house's WiFi (eg. mine's Worcester Bosch) I would very much doubt any boilers use household WiFi

Aoka Mizu has to go there to get it's stack thing re-attached (had to remove it to get under bridge at Suez canal) I doubt it will take long to do.
