Dunder, when you worked as a doorman in those rough pubs did you ever get a 'pc' job title such as 'Admissions Overseer' or 'Customer Conduct Supervisor'.....? ;-))

has to tread carefully while it is still trying to attract investors to the country, it also has loans from the World Bank etc so shouldn't be able to do anything too drastic for next 5 years by which time most of us will have scarpered with our profits. It is also likely Magufuli will get replaced as his attitude only suits the development phase (when butts need kicking) when Tanzania has what it needs in place the people will tire of him and choose a more graceful type of politician with better business credentials...just my opinion

who can explain what sort of kit is required for a well producing from 2 levels at differing pressures. What do they do for a well like KN-1? Is stuck valve replacement choice dependent on this arrangement? Would we need to know all about the lower level before installing wellhead equipment?

lower section of KN-1 yielded 1/3rd to 1/2 a TCF could it potentially mean no need for farm-out? I still think farm out is good and should go ahead because it brings a lot of security to a small company such as ours and drilling is a risky business, plus Ruvuma 'economy of scale' argument etc.....just chucking the cat among the pigeons for the debate...I guess TPDC like the reassurance that there will be lots of drills in quick sucession in Ruvuma with the farm-out

can have his stand-off with the offshore gas explorers all he wants but he needs us in the meantime or he will look a right plonker re not being able to supply enough gas and electricity via all the new infrastructure they've spent so much money on! clock is ticking...and a lot of gas-related promises already made, the opposition would have a field day!

maybe they don't use mud when perforating? If anyone knows what's involved let us know....I'm just hoping the thing doesn't get stuck!

they'll need to mud-up good! Songo Songo-2 well when targeting same formation had a blow-out, so there's plenty of gas there.....could be half a TCF sitting down there? (if as said on Hot Copper we could be same size as Songo Songo field which was @1.4 TCF) Kiliwani South-1 well will test other bit to the south later on to confirm the rest of the volume of Aminex's Kiliwani gas. The markets still haven't got it yet, it's ridiculous that we are still under 2p this close to a big discovery, well already drilled and cased! Jay said will install valve asap, then drain off liquids that have accumulated down the well while it was shut, then they'll test the gas flow again before perforating lower section. Fingers and toes crossed the perforation goes smoothly!

'stuck valve' news would make a nice change from stuck record :-)

think you are right in your point that they did not perforate KN-1 lower section because they were just desperate at the time to declare a commercial discovery and get it producing...

just a thought... re 'untested' section...wonder if it were liquids (condensate) not gas..... what then? or oil? as gas impeded by fault lines... could they contain oil trap? or has seismic ruled that out?...
