Hi Aminexers!21 Oct 2018 09:38
I think the delay is all Magufuli-related, although Jay needs to explain why stuck valve situation is not yet sorted. Do not underestimate the potential for Magufuli to utterly b@lls up Tanzanias future with his pie-eyed Nyerere-ist Socialist idealism (which requires government ownership of key economic infrastructure- it's been b@llsed up before and they want to try again).. and inability to understand the modern concept of international trade and investment! (he disapproves of fellow politicians owing shares, he thinks anyone trying to make money is greedy, thinks investors are all pith-helmet wearing old-style Colonialists of the worst kind from 100 years ago who want to 'Colonise' his economy- don't ask, it appears he gets his overloaded rhetoric from Pan Africanist movement who are highly unpleasant people who casually use terms like 'slit the throat of Whiteness' - no kidding!) like I said before he has thought nothing of upsetting the investors for the LNG plant by not having in place the Host Government agreement they expect to secure their investment, and the gas licences being left unrenewed for nearly 10 months now. He has done nothing to issue a statement himself to allay the fears of investors but has instead left his underlings make the 'soothing assurances' in the press. It never easy for a politician to get away with outright theft from investors straight-off but cranking-up the rhetoric first could smooth the way for him. The Tanzanians seem to be falling for it. There is a very real need to watch the politics here and govt signing the paperwork would go some way to reassure investors. I'm over on SAVP now where the ceo is getting on with the business nicely and the very prospective acreage has lovely dry gas that requires little processing plus on average around 5 oil target layers and another lower oil target too that looks interesting, juicy deal about to conclude which gives access to and ownership of a gas pipeline with business customers in Nigeria (business-friendly) and the company will be producing gas and oil very soon in Niger, drill success rate so far 100% for 5 of SAVP's wells in Niger, can truck Niger oil to refineries soon but oil export pipeline should be available in approx. next two years, a top featured company on Malcy's list... hope to see some of you on there in future. All the best dear friends, FL
