Personally, I don't see competition anytime soon. To the best of my knowledge ORPH have the only Covid Challenge agent.
And his isn't a vaccine trial - it is a scientific study about re-infection. I'm seeing this as an additional revenue stream for Open Orphan - with virtually no overhead :-)

Depends if the 4.8m is the total cost - or just what the Welcome Trust are contributing. A company called Boyd are involved too (is this them : https://www.boydcorp.com/ ??? ) and Oxford University are not short of cash either...

And I think we do need an RNS on this to clarify ORPH's involvement...

As LittleWing says - you probably won't have to wait too long to be back in profit... there is significant news flow expected.

And not asleep - just taken a while to read through the detail. Very exciting - and the lead in times to both the announcement of shares and the end of the trading lock-in should bring good stability.
This looks to have been very well considered.

Looking especially at:

I think an RNS is imminent. Either an institutional buyer or major news. The trading price and volume over the last week has been fantastic (a block of 200,000 shares at 47p has just gone through). This isn't just PI's topping up their ISA's :-)
LTHs have waited patiently for this - and I'm enjoying every minute.

I agree with Bazzaman. My recollection/interpretation is not one of the April Spin offs... I think CF was referring to specific details of 1 or 2 of the spin offs and how they will be structured. This is just the launch of DiM as part of Hvivo/ORPH for now...
(I just laughed to myself at the phrase 'just the launch of DiM' - which will be potentially huge :-)
There seems to be a consensus among some investors that the first spin offs will be the 'immune modulator' and 'PrepBiopharm' and I tend to agree. Just IMHO...

Potentially 70-80million for the 6-7 Covid Challenge Trial slots alone...
I need to go back to look at my earlier projections - but off the top of my head 100-120 (not including selling Challenge agents)

That 'Hvivo' is actually named in the Vaccine Taskforce's future strategy is hugely significant.
And I also agree ORPH is still very undervalued on core business alone.
If a major RNS lands soon then I think we'll be starting with a '5'

I'm fairly sure that Hartlebury is correct. They are warrants held by staff/ex staff and original investors in Venn and Hvivo. We are looking at very small amounts of shares.

Just dawned on me...
I'm sure in a previous presentation, CF said that they would be looking to the continent for volunteers because of the UK's vaccine rollout success. Hey Presto - a recruitment/screening centre at the end of the Eurostar :-)
Very smart planning!

Strong presentation tonight. He left quite a few areas untouched... but what he focussed on was seriously positive.
My takeaways:
- Confirmed St Pancras venue as a new recruitment centre (this is the 3rd new recruiting venue recently, looking good to scale up)
- XMAS for Disease in Motion was mentioned
- New non-core items to be packaged up with one, or more, of the spin offs (what have they found in the cupboard now? :-)
- Starting first anti-microbial study (wow - potentially huge market and this has been barely touched on in presentations!)
-Details of first and possibly 2nd spin off to be announced this month

Everything is looking good - and lots that wasn't mentioned still to come too...

Anyone else feel like things have significantly changed in the last week?
Personally, I feel as though everything ORPH has been very carefully controlled for the last few months. Suddenly we have:
- The first Covid Trialees have successfully left the building
- Oh look, a 7.5million RSV contract
- Times article talking about the Imutex spin out
- Share price actually rising on positive news

And there is typically a new RNS in the days before a presentation.

We are all looking to the future because we know what news is coming - but the performance so far has been stella.
