Bahrain Steel, Anglo American sign new 20-year, US$15B iron ore supply deal
2 May 2019
Bahrain Steel BSCC EC reached a new 20-year, US$15 billion deal with Anglo American PLC unit Anglo American Marketing Ltd. for the supply of pellet feed to its pelletizing plants in Hidd, Bahrain. Anglo American will supply 8 million wet tonnes of pellet feed per year, with a minimum 67% iron content produced from its Minas Rio iron ore mine in Brazil, to Bahrain Steel's plants, which have an annual rated capacity of 12 million tonnes of finished pellets.
Not sure how 'binding' (boom!boom!) the contract is, but on the face of it, no opening for ZIOC.
