It is always a close period for two months prior to the results and that was undoubtedly preceded by an extended close period relating to non-public trials info that probably lasted for at least a year.

I doubt there has been a single day that directors and insiders could trade the shares since summer 2022.

The results timing is largely due to the conference the following week, I think. But I agree Burble’s point about confidence.

I’d also note that, if there is to be a brief window in the ongoing close period, it will be this month. I’m not sure there will be, with potential non-public developments on antibodies and Covidity possible, even if they get the Modi-1 and Modi-2 development plans out.

Don’t see why it would leak - it never has before.

I’ll just make this point again. Buybacks were running at 20-30,000 a day for months. Then in September they increased to 50-60,000 a day. Now they seem to be at 90,000+.

Just saw Jeremy Hunt interviewed. He’s intending to introduce measures to encourage UK pension funds to put more of their funds into UK growth stovks and technological leaders, so that those businesses stay in the UK. Currently only 4% of pension fund assets are in growth stocks, compared to 15% in Canada.

I suspect he hasn’t considered the impact of demographics, but it is an interesting policy slant for companies like Scancell.

Interesting point re Covidity. It is clearly a “special case” that is not being developed further by Scancell - but the question is whether someone else will pick it up? There is also the question of whether the government will get involved in upgrading Covid vaccines and perhaps adopting a replacement for mRNA.

There might just be more to this than meets the eye, IMO. A couple of months ago I forwarded an invitation from a government minister for Scancell to get in touch re Covidity (having promoted Covidity’s attractions through my MP). I was mildly surprised to get no acknowledgement - though of course hadn’t requested one and the forwarding didn’t require one.

My conclusion was that the matter was “already in hand” in some way. And Burble’s observation rather backs that up. If there are some live discussions in the background, we ought to get a steer in the results.

Options legally cannot be exercised by management in a close period. Nor can new options be granted. Hence the extension.

They have been in a continual close period as a result of having non-public knowledge about the trials.

It isn’t their job, hasiba. It is the brokers job to do that.

The BoD should be (and clearly are) giving updates on the science and trials and promoting the company to the industry.

I agree with Ruck’s 60p to £1 range, as things stand at present. I think the next TD assessment after the next Modi-1 update will be quite significant.

I will be very interested to see their next full piece, which may be attaching greater success chances to Modi-1 and SCIB1, as well as including something small for Modi-2. Also there may well be antibody news?

Sometime soonish there will be a material upgrade towards 50p a share.

Perhaps FOMO has cut in sooner than I’d thought it might? These profit-taking range traders don’t seem to have much conviction about eg “the gap being filled” to 14p after all…..

FOMO will cut in at some points, once the traders stop trading what they see (justifiably, based on history) as a range…..

Very interesting to see they are wheeling out Vince on the 4th for his debut in a presentation (after 25 years)…….I conclude that they are clearly expecting some detailed questions on Vietnam activity.

I wonder if we’ll get an update on the 125 partner…..and drilling plans…..as well as an update on the inventory of prospects and the materiality of the potential upside……

“ Additionally, recruitment into the neoadjuvant arm of the Modi-1 trial in combination with CPI was also approved. This study will recruit 30 patients who will be randomised at diagnosis to receive either two doses of Modi-1 three weeks apart or two doses of Modi-1 plus one dose of CPI. Tumour biopsies will be taken prior to immunisation and from the tumour resection 6 weeks following the initial vaccination. The two tumour samples will allow the extent of T cell infiltration and activation pre- and post-Modi-1 vaccination to be assessed with and without a checkpoint inhibitor.”

Its randomised, of course, but if both arms of the comparison produce strong results, then it may be sooner than one thinks…..My guess is mid-October….
