Amazing how omicron has managed to get on board in the first place.
However we are getting more and more evidence Omicron is far milder than Delta........... and becoming the dominant strain meaning less people get Delta.
From what I have gleaned over the last few weeks my opinion is Omicron usually gives almost no symptoms. People who have had 2 jabs and booster jab have next to no chance of getting severely ill, unless they have some underlying nasty disease. People with 2 jabs have more risk but again are extremely unlikely to end up in hospital. Then one jab more risky, then no jab (fools?) may catch and end up in hospital, may die.
As far as I am aware 95% of passengers and crew have to be double jabbed at least, and show a negative test result before boarding. Thus it is extremely unlikely anyone on a cruise ship would get ill enough to go to hospital. In fact IMHO 95% of those who test positive would show no symptoms.
Conclusion is cruises, provided 95% double jabbed and all who board have tested negative will be allowed to carry on. Easily.

One hopes the Indian Government will carry out their part of the agreement as soon as all the legal cases are dropped and pay Cairn the $1 billion.

have taken yet another kicking over the holiday. Thousands of cancelled flights due to pilots/staff being ill with Omicron. The advantage cruise Companies have is the crew are vaccinated, can't get on board in the first place without a negative test and stay on board for months. Obviously airline cabin crew do not stay on board for any more than a day of so max.

With Omicron looking to be far milder than Delta even if a child (the 5% non vaccinated is to cater for children that cannot currntly get vaccinated) comes aboard with Omicron the chances of any major outbreak on board or abyone getting seriously ill is minimal. Must be safer than going shopping I think, and by a long chalk. Seems some participants in the market have worked this out quick as the sp has rebounded from a low around 1200p to 1462p now.

I have a feeling their will be further restrictions but closing clothes shops not one of them.
Expect cafe's and pubs closed for maybe a few weeks, or restricted hours.

I have been investing in the UK stock market for more than 15 years.

Having said that (as in weak buy) any investor should look at the big picture.
Seems to me the UK thanks to the NHS has got massive numbers double jabbed and boosted.
Trouble is USA and Europe are far behind and although Omicron seems to be less severe (maybe by a long way) those fools who have not had a jab, or have only had the two maybe on their way to hospital, assuming there are any beds available. I'll leave my opinion as weak buy. IAG are world wide so this needs consideration!! Unjabbed people in USA and Europe could yet make Omicron a name that will be remembered for decades. I truly hope not.

Glad you are ok. So you are 34 and double jabbed, had a fever for a day etc.
All very well but we have millions of people over 70 in this country double jabbed who are likely to get it. I hope things will be ok but it remains to be seem what will happen. Anyone who says they know is a liar.
