Yes I already look every udate which are usually about 4pm.
The in hospital figure is 7,611 at the moment, surely the most important.
Since 4th December the in hospital figure has risen but not a lot............ yet.
In early November it was over 9,000. It would be easy to take this as all is well (excuse the pun!).
However we have not had Omicron long enough for hospital cases to really start to happen (assuming they do).
LBC reporting a third of London hospital staff might be off work by xmass!! Hope this is incorrect!

These IMHO fools are easily enough to swamp the NHS. Just 1% of 5,000,000 is 50,000.
So if half get it (2.5m), and 3% end up in hospital that is 75,000.
Let alone the people that have had one or 2 jabs that only give 20% priotection against severe illness.

TV earlier said 9 out of 10 of the most severe cases in hospital are people who have NOT had even one jab.
Out of these people I presume most will be people who decided not to have the vaccine rather than those who could not for medical reasons. These fools are the ones that are getting ill taking up beds for weeks if not months costing a fortune and stopping other people having life saving operations. They are selfish beyond belief. I think we should send them the bill if they survive. In fact maybe we should charge them from day one if they have covid and no good reason for not having had the vaccine. I bet a whole load of them would suddenly change their minds.

the Government have made a measured call on Omicron.
The 100 or so Tory MP's that did not back this IMHO are a disgrace, maybe worrying more about how much money their businesses are losing than how many people might die.
By the end of the week (I hope!) we will have a better idea of how lethal Omicron is.
There is in fact a good argument to say the Government did not go far enough. If this explodes into tens of thousands of people dying maybe the voters in the 100 or so constituents where these what I would say "gambling", high risk taking MP's sit will turf them out.

bad Omicron is? I am astonished the pharmaceutical Companies and Governments cannot even find out how deadly or not a virus is 3 or 4 weeks aftrer people started catching it. I mean WHY? Seems to me frankly it would be faster to contact all the people in South Africa who have it and ask them! By the time the experts have come up with their answer we will already either have a load of dead people or we won't. What a joke! Clearly there is a massive problem here and the "experts" need to find a way of finding out how dangerous viruses are in say 2 weeks, not 3 to 6 which seems to be the case here.

I like to think I'm a logical person.
Logic tells me that unless Omicron is litrally like a mild cold we will be in the smelly stuff big time.
Even if it's like a bad cold, people that are old or frail due to other health problems are likely to get other illnesses as a result, like pneumonia which can kill. People have to remeber the UK's NHS does not have much spare capacity even withiout any covid. My best guess is unfortunately we are heading for a monumental health system disaster starting in 2 weeks time. I cannot come to any other conclusion at the moment based on the facts I have heard. I expect a lockdown starting first week of January. I really hope I'm wrong. Good luck!!!
