They can offer what they like and point to the pre-offer price to show what percentage improvement the offer is to that price. A ramped up share price on thin trading has no meaning to a bid for the entire company. There'd be no point in shorting because AVG want to aquire shares, not sell them. If they short then that would be known and all they'd achieve is wasting money on spreads and commissions. Good news today on contracts and if th emarket had been in a good mood, these would have been mid-fifties by the close.

Some people obviously do as big buys went in after the close 100,000 at 171p and 25K at 170p. Why do people trade after the close and get a much worse price??

I don't think so; the extension of the offer once it went unconditional was the compulsory bit. Now they have fulfilled that obligation they can do what they want I'm afraid.

Most likely because Delek have over 94% of IAE shares so less than 6% in the market implying a delisting I would think.

GFRD are not a pure housebuilder though; they are a mix of that and construction. Try MCS and CSP which I think still offer good value.

I've bought and sold HAYT with four tranches of shares; I trade them if I can; I'm not interested in trying to ramp or deramp as all that is pointless these days; if you check my posts you can see that I have never been bullish on these; my suggested bid price in the competition was/is 48p. Therefore please do give up these stupid accusations of scaring people. Surely it is possible to have a slightly negative view and discuss that sensibly ? maybe not.

I'm not signed-up with them so I don't know. You can click the link and it shows one tick out of 5 in the 'value' section but it quickly wants you to sign-in. I gather they are on the turkey side though. HAYT does seem to have trouble refinancing it's short-term debt though otherwise it would have just sorted out a long-term loan instead of rolling over on a monthly basis. AVG will no doubt exploit this for a low-ballpark offer, if any.

It might be two weeks old but I only just found it and thought it highly relevant and interesting. That's what these boards are for you know, to post interesting ideas and information; unlike your desperate ramping. Anyway neither my posts or yours are going to alter the price or outcome.

No not desperate at all; made my beer money on this one already. I do think expectations of 80p or more are widely optimistic. A bid of more than double pre-bid price is out of th equestion. Its a binary I think between no bid and back to 40p or some kind of deal/merger worth around 48p; wither way the share price at the moment is on the high side.

Its the fact that aren't actually turning a profit and doubts as to whether they will be able to increase prices to do so. Anyone can sell stuff at a loss and increase turnover!

"Called a pump and dump" No that's when shares are talked up by rampers who then dump them. In this case UAI shares were marked up 5% at the open and no-one was buying; all sells. Strange that it wasn't marked down initially, they don't usually get it wrong.

Yes a bit dissappointing. Interestingly they were marked up to 200/208p at the open +5% so the market makers thought things looked ok but joe public not impressed and quote now 183/188 :( I managed to sell some for 199p and 196p though. Still have most of mine; should have sold more but you can never tell for certain how it will go.

graham-wales - you seem pretty desperate to talk the price up. How heavily are you invested? I'm currently out of HAYT and fortunately sold all my excess shares in AFC soon after they were allocated (applied for the max and got about 48%) which has had an unpopular AGM today.
