No although it is annualised, it is not calculated yearly rather it gets instantly recalculated every time the SP changes thus right at this moment 13:59 it shows 6.31% but a couple of days ago when the SP was around £2.76 it was showing 6.36%. LSE is really saying that if the annual dividend stays the same (17.57p) then your annualised yield % would be so and so at the current SP. I.e., it's a guide and not an absolute rate fixed in stone.

Gavster:- Don't quite understand advantage of Sabre over DLG when yield is far lower. Am I missing something?

Hi Barchid, don't think the split was/is the only factor the excellent results for '20 and the lump of cash which will soon become available are creating interest too. Had a word with bro last week and he dived in with £5k immediately.

Bought a few last year £2.12 can't think why. Think I will get out soon, there are better yields elsewhere.

Some people who don't think for themselves believe it must be good because it's in the Telegraph. Do you think that fund managers base their selections on what's in the Sunday Telegraph, do you?, Really?

Great opportunity to buy at current price - where else can one get a 7+% yield from a quite stable company? I must add a few more shares before it goes back up again.

A "really well run company" which does not produce annual accounts until months after everyone else has done so - I think not.

Versus the recent broker recommendations this ex div price drop looks rather silly. Think I will scrape together another few bob to buy more at this price.

In ye olden days their was no capital gains tax so that those with plenty of readies could make gains before ex div due tothe SP tending to reflect the upcoming div then sell without paying any tax whereas divs when they arrived were taxable income. Even now there is still some advantage to the practice because capital gains tax starts at £12.5k and divs are taxed starting at £2k but the advantage is far less than in ye olden times.

All very true ICL and it could well be the current gang of four who do it if we are not careful. Somebody needs to get rid before they impose even further on our lives. Most folk simply do not realise just how much damage they have already done.

Yes and it looks like some folk are beginning to understand that the buy backs are bound to enhance the SP.

Why would anyone invest in Deliveroo? My local (v. good) kebab and chip shop have their own "deliverers", none of this Deliveroo nonsense.

Can't understand where the "3.5 to 4.5" numbers come from, LGEN has averaged 6.2% yield over the last 5 years.

Went to LSE meself about 18 months ago, no sign on or annual fee and more useful info than AJ or HL.

NP the old boys that ran T back in the 70's/80's were a bit more with it than the current lot. They had a good set of strategies which enabled them to make a lot of progress as we know. Occasionally one sees a minor change of pace but nothing significant. Online shopping is not an engine for growth because it just moves goods from the shop to the van without changing volume. I shop in Tesco, Lidl and Aldi all the time but Lidl gets the lion's share because their combination of quality/price ticks a lot of boxes.

I was merely injecting some truth into the discussion for the benefit of a newbie (Trendsetter) and I am not silly enough to imagine that I could influence the SP of TSCO. In fact I don't need to - the SP has been quite erratic as has their performance over the last five years as can be seen from the charts on this website or perhaps they are "inaccurate" NOT.
