However, there are occasions when individual share holders deal directly with each other and I suspect that is when we see "unknown" written against them by LSE. It's not just DLG, it's large chunks of the market so one has to ask why a lot of people suddenly find the need to increase their cash piles. There is always a reason even though on some occasions that reason is downright stupid. This is why the great Warren decrees that when the market is falling he goes bargain hunting for quality stocks which are too cheap.

It's not really an insurance company anymore , I don't count life assurance which is really a kind of savings exercise and the rest of their business is pensions and the like so where else can you get a 6.5% return from a rock solid investment vehicle?

Royc:- I am adding a "normal" div, possibly in the range of 3 - 4p as you suggest to a special div from the release of the share premium account - thus meeting the board's indicated capital reduction plan. Plus a guess that someone in the family wants some cash for who knows what.

Me too, I have a suspicion that the next div could be at least 10p.

Well never mind it seems that we will have to differ. In addition to myelf my wife also struck the car in front at speed a few years ago and even earlier than that was was rear ended whilst stationery with some force on neither occasion did she have any so called whiplash injury. I will continue to hold my view that it is not real at all and as it happens your second sentence is an almost exact description of what actually happened to me in the incident I described earlier except he was doing 40 not 30. So first I was jolted forward then almost instantly backward because he hit me so hard that my car collided with the stationary car in front as well. NO "WHIPLASH" injury despite thieving lawyer trying to convince me otherwise. What shall we discuss next LOL.

Correct, I am not a doctor but would like to explore alittel futher. Vertebrae I understand to be bones and as such probably have similar properties to very hard wood. It just so happens that I have dealt with both materials and found that they can snap and splinter if huge (and I mean huge) forces are applied. But hyperextension (stretching) or compression (squashing out of shape) no, I cannot accept that and I submit neither could anyone else who has ever dealt with such materials, it just does not happen. I suppose that if you subject a thick piece of bone to a forty ton press it might shatter but it wouldn't get compressed. Having said all that I am not so silly that I don't know that people can break their necks but the forces involved for that to happen are entirely different from those involved in vehicle collisions otherwise we would have formula one drivers breaking their necks all the time would we not. We seem not to have such drivers complaining of "whiplash" on a regular basis either.

Now listen carefully;- in reality there is no such thing as a "whiplash" injury. It was invented just over twenty years ago by a rascally lawyer aided and abetted by an almost equally rascally doctor in order to squeeze a bit more money out of motorists. Note I said "motorists" not insurance companies who simply pass the costs on to us. In the first 30 years of my driving and insurance experience, it was unheard of. Have you ever heard of someone being hospitalized or off work because of whiplash? No, Neither have I and despite that really hefty bang in the rear a few years ago, I had no such experience myself.

Well yes but a rather paltry dividend considering the results and the amount of cash in hand. BOD needs a kick up the nether regions IMO unless they are planning a take over some where.

TBH I am amazed that these claims for false injuries are allowed at all. After my quite hefty bang in the backside awhile back, see previous post, I suffered no such injuries so I do not believe that they really exist and really it is daylight robbery committed by the people who make such claims. I would dispute same with any medical man from my own experience.

Probably not a huge sum because the thieving lawyers who encourage dishonesty are likely to find other ways to carry out their nefarious activity. About five years ago someone rear ended me and my car was written off because it hit the guy in front as well. Afterwards one of said lawyers phoned me regularly to persuade me to use them for an injury claim even though I was not injured. Never mind that they kept saying we will manage to get at least two thousand pounds for you if you press a claim, this went on for about three months but I refused to be cajouled into dishonesty.

MCAp is just a calculated number which reflects what the market thinks at the time and the market is, as we all know the collection of shareholders involved in buying and selling the shares at the time; it changes from one day to the next.
