RE: VESA MOVE!25 Aug 2022 16:03
Maximas. We aren't meeting the USO at the moment. The government aren't happy about that and numerous MPs from all parties have said this. When you don't have enough posties to do the job already and can't fill the vacancies that are advertised then you don't make people redundant. Any buyer only has two choices at the moment. Recruit to meet the USO or face constant fines and then government intervention.
If you can't find enough workers on todays terms then lowering wages and terms and conditions can only increase that problem.
The Village idiot on here thinks we are all going to lose money on strike days. That may apply to mail centre and distribution workers but on delivery that doesn't apply. This is due to a huge shortage of posties, which allows them to work there days off covering , uncovered walks and then using the strike day as their day off. It been hilarious watching the village idiot spout on about us losing wages when most aren't. Up to now all that has happened is a number of younger, fitter part time workers have left the business, to join other companies, many on better pay. So a good thing that they have been given a nudge to better themselves.
