Don't assume all of that stuff isn't done just because there's been no RNS, bit like all the CPRs/JORCs and pit shell optimisation work. If we could see the pace of activity from all sides, i'd imagine there'd been plenty more FOMO.

Shortly :) But seriously, Sviblov's Fortiana bought Kinross in less than 1.5 week of dd. These sorts of buyers complete target assessment quickly, far quicker than corporates. All quiet for a reason I expect. Still some are fretting about the regulatory environment despite support locally for such transactions. There's other features that make EUA a better profile than Kinross also.

Simply though, Kupol had 1.25Moz P&P so around $650/oz Au for $400m paid or roughly the same as its Operating Earnings for 2021. Someone mentioned "yeah but too simple to compare to Kinross" - true, arguably EUA is a better profile and one factor is the continued operation of WK whereas Kinross suspended.

I view the "robust" market cap as an admission MMs know a sale is yet on the cards. The appearance of Japanese bile usually follows buy side activity and sells above mid price. MMs will take it to NT, lock down buyers then post FUD to secure stock. I think John Meyer said it best when he said it would be local or from BRICS.

Or the simpler way to look at what was paid for Kupol was one years Operating Earnings ie before deductions for any interest and tax. It was around $400m in 2021.

LB, just an after thought on WK - typically an EBITDA multiple is useful too. In normal times, 12-14x for a t/o. Kinross' Kupol only had 3 years reserves left which in the deal was $400m. Kinross also suspended its mining whereas WK operates.

Best to stick to RNSs and not BBC News for what EUAs doing or change in circumstance, although yes, it's been a looooong silence that doesn't make it easy. The emotion of the conflict can easily blur into trading decision making and the reality is, often when it comes to complex professional matters, the media is last to report and cannot possibly provide qualified opinion on specific application to EUA. So if Kira pulls out a 30 year old FT statement and there's been no RNS, you get the idea...

I noted some selling this pm, I imagine because of what media outlets brand a new push in "the battle for Donbas" which heightens emotions and layman assessments of the legal environment well above our paygrades.

These investments should be risk managed from a personal appetite/tolerance perspective but sticking your head in your phone and bulletin boards all day hoping for answers can be value destructive. I'm guilty myself and should cut back. I'll wait for the next RNS(s).

I expect EUA completed dd, has presented appropriately and is no longer waiting for a thawing of relations. Time to press the button on a reasonable offer from preferred list. There hadn't been an announcement that directly impacts the company either or foreign investors where there is a respectful exit. Nerves are frayed but the silence is for a reason.

Kinross reference is to someone saying foreign investments can't be realised, but that is factually and evidently incorrect. So it comes down to whether you believe EUA has interested buyers and are in a position to press 'go' with the one that offers most favourably when it comes to value and certainty.

Given EUA is not beholden to Norilsk, has options and the board, directors & officers aligned with shareholders as well as evidence of orderly exits of foreign owned companies at fair value, many probably have a different view.

None of this delisting stuff matters anymore. There is no benefit to Russian assets remaining on an exchange that marks assets down to virtual zero. Similarly I expect in Q3, London and NY to do similar. Might as well be private. This is the direction of travel for both East and West, hence you'll see more Chinese firms pulling away from Western domiciled assets and exchanges. Hence again, companies are selling today to buyers that give a fundamentally equitable offer.

This is indeed the clear direction of travel and why it now doesn't matter when the war ends. This is it for decades. Western investors have unilaterally marked down the value of quality Russian assets, so Moscow isn't going to keep watching that nonsense. Hence those expecting a pause before EUA sells aren't on the same page. As per John Meyer podcast, EUA will select a buyer at best possible terms that also ensure shareholders get the proceeds. As per Kinross sale, Moscow is also supporting orderly and respectful exits.

Given this was NT to buy £5k at 9.50p I agree with Maidit. When and before I'm accused of being "positive", it is when, an update on sale comes - whether its final or status of discussion stage, it'll be through 20p.

If you base your investment decisions on bb posts then you should stop playing with these sorts of stocks.
