Some politicians are saying we are on the edge of stepping into a dictatorship. Lots of MP's are against it. It's causing a huge divide, not just in parliament but in the country. Such a big gamble, such a big controversial step to take. only 10% unvaxxed of which majority will be fit young healthy people (hence why there using nightclubs as the leverage). Why is the government willing to cause such a huge controversial divide in the country just to force the last few fit and healthy people to take this jab. What's betting that 95% of the remaining 5m unvaxxed are extremely unlikely to suffer with Covid nevermind be hospitalised by it.

So I think it is safe to say that Covid passes in their current form will only aid the spread of cases and increase hospitalisations.

Therefore the sole purpose of the covid pass is to coerce reluctant people to take a jab they don't necessarily want to take. Considering 90% of the UK have taken a jab, and we were told herd immunity was around 70%, at what point are the government going to leave the rest of the unvaxxed alone. Do they want 100%. Why?

An international study on the impact of Covid passes has found that they can lead to more people getting vaccinated.

The study - billed as the first of its kind - examined six countries that introduced such passes to restrict access to certain public spaces to those who'd been fully jabbed, had tested negative, or who'd recovered from coronavirus.

Researchers from the University of Oxford said Covid passes could make a difference, but weren't a silver bullet.

In four of the six countries studied - Israel, France, Italy and Switzerland - there was a significant uptake in vaccines, immediately before and after such passes were brought in.

Their effect was most noticeable in what the authors termed "vaccine- complacent" groups such as the under-30s and men.

But in two countries - Germany and Denmark - they did not significantly drive vaccine uptake.

The passes' impact depends on many factors, the study concludes, suggesting it's more dramatic in places where vaccine rates are comparatively low, and there are no limitations on the supply of jabs

Proof that all the government are interested in is getting people vaccinated. Even if it means aiding the spread of cases and increasing hospitalisations. Being discussed in gov today.

Just tried. Everywhere available as it was this morning when I booked in. May be a glitch. This morning there were about 6 cars there. I wouldn't say it was busy at all. Likely to get increasingly busy over the next couple of weeks though.

Me and my son went for 1 this morning. Sore throat, sniffles. Bit of a cough. All the hallmarks of a standard cold. Let's see. It just indicates to me that testing will be and should be sky high this winter.

First, 200k will include asymptomatic cases so not all will be PCR tested. I am expecting 100k per day over the next couple of weeks. I am not buying into the 1m per day by end of month. That could have been a play by gov to be able to downplay Omicron when they actually get no where near that figure i.e "oh it's only 200k per day, not as bad as we thought"

2nd. There are more than 7 now on the approved list. You seem to forget the other 50+ on the temp approved list. My understanding is that these can be sold up until Feb22. PROmate is on the temp list. Genesig on the approved list.
