We got there eventually byp. Covid passes in their current form don't work, especially right now when fully vaxxed is classed as only 2 jabs.

You have 2 options to fix.

To the right, make them vaxxed only, which doesn't avoid the problem of some vaxxed falling ill and dieing. Very autocratic
To the left, test everyone, ensure everyone is safe and everyone can partake. A much fairer place to live.

Unfortunately, not our choice.

I guess the key there then byp is take that situation of 18 people and extrapolate it up to the 70m+ in the UK and then extrapolate it further to the near 8bn people in the world.

It does support my theory of the covid pass not working. In a nightclub you will have many people in there unvaxxed who tested negative. If they catch covid they may require hospital treatment. Either make it a vaxxed only pass or test everyone. You can't allow vaxxed and unvaxxed to mix otherwise you get the increased hospitalisations.

We have Omicron which is putting people in hospital and unfortunately killing them. Delta put hundreds of thousands in the hospital, testing and vaccines and other measures allowed us to spread those thousands over a 9 month period. Imagine Omicron putting half as many people in hospital in the space of 4 weeks. That's why testing and other measures are important.

Covid mutates, spreading facilitates mutations. No guarantees that the next mutation will be a cold. Very risky just to let it run its course. Lots of unnecessary deaths.

Let's not forget long covid. I'd rather avoid it if possible, but to do that I need to know where covid is. Testing is the only eyes we have.

A quick read of this would suggest we should be testing everyone not just the minority.

I actually agree with that statement dribbles. It was said in the right tone without a belittling side to it.

However, Omicron is already hospitalising people and is deadly so caution says we need to manage the spread until we understand it more.

Sorry, but if the government are expecting hundreds of thousands of cases per day, some reports suggesting a million. Why arn't they locking us down. It's not great but it's the most effective measure. Just a few weeks. We've done it before. It's crazy that knowing we are only 42% tripple jabbed and 58% completely unprotected against infection that they allow us to all mingle together if we so choose. Chaos will ensue and then we'll have no choice but to lockdown. Horse bolted springs to mind.

Let's also remember that triple jabs are not silver bullets either, people are already becoming infectious. There is actually more need now for triple jabbed to get tested as they will most likely catch covid and be asymptomatic. The covid pass will again allow them to spread it round to everyone else. Just test everyone with the best LFT or even better, a 10 min PCR. Come in Nova, the world needs you.

Sonic, agreed. Unvaxxed will be playing their part as well in this spread. The divide shouldn't be vaxxed or unvaxxed, it should be 'those that care and those that don't'. Those that don't will walk around maskless, stand over your shoulder in the queue, ignore testing, manipulate the system. These people contribute to the spread regardless of their vaccine status. The people that care will do the opposite. My personal opinion is, I would rather spend my time with someone unvaxxed who cares than someone vaxxed who doesn't care. Likewise I would rather spend my time with someone vaxxed who cares than someone unvaxxed who doesn't care.

Unfortunately, the government has driven a culture that says it's ok for the vaxxed to walk around untested, you can go into that night club untested. You don't have to isolate, you don't have to get tested to get on that plane. It's a free pass because the vaccine is a silver bullet. This is the government message so it is a little unfair to blame all vaxxed as some will care but they just genuinely believe they are doing the right thing. Why wouldn't you, the gov says it's the right thing and we should be able to trust our guv to lead us down the right route. Unfortunately, in driving home that message they have labelled the unvaxxed as diseased ridden vermin, despite the fact that a lot of them do care and employ all of the other safety measures. This has created a culture now where you get uncaring vaxxed pointing the finger at caring unvaxxed saying their selfish and to blame when in actual fact it is alot of the care free vaxxed contributing most to the spread.

Some vaxxed are to blame but the route cause is the government. The signing off of the covid pass was just another example and another feather in the cap of the care free vaxxed.

The government have said that given the news that 2 jabs offer no protection against infection from Omicron they intend to change the covid pass from 2 jabs to 3 jabs. Makes sense to me. They then go onto say, this will not become active until at least all adults have been given a reasonable chance to get the booster. Errmmm so mid to end of Jan. Byp, what are your thoughts on this?

Let's leave the Vax talk. I made it clear that I am not against Vax I am against people telling me I have to do something I don't want to do. There is a clear difference. Stop putting words in people's mouths in some sort of way to justify your constant wittering.

On a more relevant point. Explain how letting double jabbed untested people party with negatively tested unvaxxed people helps to reduce spread. 2 jabs offers next to no protection against contracting Omicron. Surely it makes sense to test everyone no?

Support masks. Was even wearing them was gov said I didn't have to. Another move by gov back in July that wasn't warranted.

Support social distance.

Support testing at borders and on entry into nightclubs, cinema ect. I take it one step further and say test everyone.

All are logical steps if done properly to help reduce the spread. Covid passes on the other hand just allows the congregation of untested people. Not logical in helping to reduce spread.

Tell me byp, why do the vaxxed have to test themselves daily now to avoid isolation.
