Mrs just came back from docs regarding long covid symptoms. Doc says it is possible that she may have developed Asthma brought on by covid. It's not just about whether Covid will put kill you or even put you in hospital. It's so much more and exactly why the world will want to keep on top of any whiff of a variant for years to come. Test, test, test

Sorry don't agree Monkey. In mid Nov we were at £2.20. There is no way that a director would look at that and think, oh I'll hang on as it might go lower. No way. Directors don't trade so it would be a long term hold. There is another reason. Maybe its been closed period since August due to the DHSC dispute but I'm clutching there.

PI100, it's not just about looking at the % required. It's all about the fundamentals and sentiment. Technicals come into it yes but they are based on very short term movements and averages. Very flimsy. If results come out and they value Ncyt at £400m then it doesn't matter what the current SP is. Imo

Ah, I didn't realise that Gasman. I recalled it as NCYT revenue. Now is the time to reveal those plans then if it is going to be £60m, £70m, £80m just for Covid. Agreed, I would be extremely disappointed with less than £100m guidance for FY22. Call me hard to please buy with our cash position and the foundations we've built over the last 2 years we need to be seeing consistent growth from here out.

No shell its not. It has been common knowledge to all for several months and was priced into the SP on the day the news landed. We're looking for things not priced in like everything on the positive side.

Ajan back in September said we had a pipeline of 26 new products to be released by end of Dec22. We have had 2 since then, assuming Co-prep and LFT self test are 2 others. Ajan said that most were non covid. I appreciate that Ajan has now left and we have a new captain steering our vessel so things may have changed a little or a lot however, with now only 11 months left that is a lot of R&D to be updating us on. New products are rarely received poorly by the market so hopefully quite a bit of news to come in the coming weeks that will elevate us to fair value.

The last guidance we had was from the August presentation that states covid revenues were expected to half in FY22. So £50m. Ncyt will know by now what January looks like so may be forced to give us some indication on whether the £50m still stands or not.

Even the most optimistic experts say that more variants will come. Hopefully when they do and it looks like BA.2 is the red hot candidate for the next one, they won't be more severe than Omicron and hopefully in time it will fizzle out like the Spanish flu. However, like with Omicron it takes weeks to know for sure if a new variant is a) more severe b) better at evading immunity and c) more transmissible. Like with Omicron, governments have to act responsibly until the variant has been investigated thoroughly. This involves trying to keep a lid on the variant without closing down the economy. As we know with Omicron, this would result in potentially 2 months of light restrictions and a truckload of testing and self isolating. It would be too risky to just assume nature will take its course and the new variant will be less of a problem for us.

In summary, variants will appear 2-3 times per year. When it has been identified, testing demand will go through the roof. During more quieter periods, governments will be replenishing stocks so significant covid sales could well be around for another couple of years at least.

With each wave governments will be looking for a quicker and more accurate test than before. A superb R&D and Bioinformatics team oh and a huge cash pile would be of great benefit to any company wanting to expand in the diagnostics world.
