I’m in Filthy’s camp as I too suspect that there is some serious moves currently occurring with the main players Horta / Woodside / Oz.gov & I suspect an interested external 3rd party.

Think I got the gist about Horta now loudly complaining about treatment from Woodside which I suspect may be a fore-runner to him asking Oz.gov to relinquish the Oz interest (inclusive of Woodside) in the Greater Sunrise.
For a willing 3rd party then 50+% of Greater Sunrise plus Chudditch’s conservative 10+Tcfg is an attractive proposition. A significant 75% of Chudditch is available at the right price.
It appears that Horta is making all the right waves to highlight Woodside’s reluctance to go to Beaco. $12B estimate revised cost for Sunrise development plus some additional piping south to Chudditch at say $300M (.?) I believe estimated cost for new piping from Bayu to Darwin, close to 4 times the distance of SG to Chudditch.

Assuming that it does all come good & it’s certainly looking promising, then will be intrigued to see if the shorts are deemed liable, specifically IF the relisted stock then see the brokers chase payments from the shorts then I am thinking that it should also apply to ISA accounts ie that they too get reinstated. Is maybe wishful thinking but if there is a relist and one section of investors (those Pi’s with shorts) are made liable by the brokers, then I hope that the other section of investors, those Pi’s that are long including this wee guy, likewise get treated by the brokers and have their original accounts get relisted..

Lol, but in Uncle Tom’s vernacular, there is easily a lambo’s worth in value that the tax man will otherwise take if the brokers decide to keep it out the ISA, assuming of course that we get anywhere near 23p. Anyone any experience of stocks relisting that were previously held in ISA accounts ?!

To give context to Horta’s argument that it is financially doable to install piping across the Timor Gap & build LNG plant at Beaco, the most recent estimates were c.$12B. Woodside estimated c.$15B.

Compare that with Shell’s Prelude LNG production vessel that has been almost permanently shutdown by the Aussie regulator for the last 5 years, its initial cost was estimated at also c.$12B and is now estimated to have cost more than $17B.

$12B appears to be a sweet deal.

If Horta succeeds in bringing a 3rd party to the table, then that will be at a premium of at least 50% of the current TG holding.
Then puts Woodside as the major controlling interest.
& then sees yet more of Horta’s angst ie. Aussie workers again travelling thru his fiefdom in addition to the evil witch Meg O’Neill getting her way.

Would reckon that if any 3rd party was to take an interest,
the first indication that we might see would be Woodside being bought out, which is doable using TL’s recent budget’s ‘dark funds’ of surplus c.$1B & using the 2018 metrics c.$1/bbl C2, as when they bought out the other 2 majors. That would upset Meg’s ambitions but it might get carried by Oz.gov looking for a peaceful solution.

That then lays the way for a 3rd party to get a minimum 50% holding in Greater Sunrise & so a decent return on the c.$12B estimated cost of piping to an LNG plant at Beaco.
It’s certainly warming up.

The region’s players are certainly all warming up.

The Australian regulator NOPSEMA has been causing havoc for the Oz energy market.
Shell’s FLNG platform, the Prelude, has been almost permanently shut down by the NOPSEMA since it arrived on site in north-west Australia almost 5 years ago.
Tied in also with the Resources Minister in August stating that they may have to consider further regulation to reduce the amount of gas being exported from Oz.

All points at Woodside ‘expanding’ their footprint outside of their territorial waters..

I’m half suspecting a move by China ; Biden was recently giving several ASEAN countries handouts of $10B each, with the purpose of establishing renewables networks.

That $10B handouts imv could then see China reciprocate & do a similar handout and IF was given to TL would then give China better regional security in addition to some further energy security.

Horta and Stevie Wonder will both recognise that Meg O’Neill is only trying to gain some PR kudos.

Would be appropriate for China to now assist; they are reportedly looking making at stronger ties within the asian community. Biden giving ASEAN handouts to convert to renewables will have given them concern. China still uses coal for 54% of all its energy requirements a lot of which is sourced from AsEAN.

Would disagree that it’s a blunder, as from yesterday’s report, the TL were already effectively told that they would need to find their own funding to send the gas to Beaco. Meg O’ Neill laid it out very clearly that Woodside would not be committing if it went across the Timor Trench.
TL would recognise that today’s announcement was simply Meg trying to get a few PR points from Oz.gov when the reality is as before, she won’t be spending the big $$’s to assist a development on TL. Woodside’s spending budget already set at c.$6.5B for 2023.

“So we feel like it’s appropriate to reopen the concept evaluation, understand the technologies, understand the technical challenges,” she said.
Also, East Timor could seek international funding to help pay for the greenfield LNG infrastructure.

Strongly suspect that TL will further recognise the benefits of going to Darwin.
