Polly.,
'...The fact that the word protocol might happen to be used in other fields doesn't mean we should shoehorn it into that context..'. For an avid people watcher with scientific background, then you would not have failed to pick up on, as it was very clearly stated, that there could be No exact answer to the 'exact meaning of protocol requirements' , which somewhat conflicts with your interpretation of having 'shoe-horned' my thoughts ?
With a scientific background, one would have thought investigating all possible explanations was paramount, & perhaps have looked further behind the possibles, might indeed have even queried the official report/RNS author's qualifications in using said scientific/technical parlance ?
HITS.,
Interesting rogues gallery of who's who within the bounds of your listed mot justes..
IF the bb's are indeed cluttered with those rogues of mot justes, why do such 'esteemed' scholars lower themselves to take such avid interest ?
Call me an old-fashioned investor, ok.. a cynic, who is also amused with recent coincidences in posters alma maters, then my intuition, , smells an interesting whiff of cow-pat, from those whose summary of readings, then result in a one-sided list of bb mot justes.
----------------
Investors will have in their armoury, in addition to the afore mentioned vocabulary of negative mot justes, a questioning nature, which when hearing of a new poster diversifying his biology qualifications to now cover 'people watching' will perhaps then query if biology's infamous 'mot juste'' had ever been truly explained, namely that of bio-genesis, & how did it all start.
The cynics amongst us will perhaps then ponder, similar to the 'protocol requirements' & again ask, do we have our starting assumptions as correct ie for protocols are we right in assuming the author of the report/RNS has any technical background, that he did not in fact, just.. pluck it out of the air? & likewise when thinking bio-genesis, I'm now wondering if my starting assumption is again wrong, should I not be thinking.... Bot-genesis ? Interesting, For those of a suspicious mind.
Then of course, one goes back to find the M.O.,
"....I really only posted on the spur of the moment because I could provide an answer to a question...."
Not so much bot then as just your average Joe..
