Lots of cases but again the UK have come out today and said Omicron is 70% less likely to send you to hospital. I do still wonder why we have not seen in vitro results on Omicron, or even Delta. By the time SNG get this data out, Omicron will have been replaced and they’ll have to do another set of tests to organise on the next variant. They need to speed up, plain and simple.

There is already vaccine hesitancy so I do not see how governments can continue down this path. Booster number 9 for Christmas 2022, anyone?

They either need to develop a vaccine that works forever, or at least for a year. Or we’ll need to rely on therapeutics for those who get seriously ill.

Those pushing the argument that it’s too early to say how severe Omicron is, then by that logic surely it is best to wait to see how severe it is before having yet another shot of an untested vaccine? And certainly one that has not been trialled with three lots of it shot into someone’s arm!

Kevin, you don’t need to explain yourself to anyone. Fact is, Omicron isn’t as severe as Delta.

Even Bloomberg, which must be the most pro vax news outlet ever, have the headline right this second as “Omicron has 80% lower risk of hospitalisation”. It’s a heavy cold but those higher risk folk might suffer more severe consequences from it. A bit like what happens most years with winter flu.

As for the booster providing you 85% more protection… hmm, we’ve heard that before on the previous jabs! What happens when Sigma or Upsilon come along?

Whoever it is buying and selling, there’s a decent amount of it going in. On course for another 2 million volume day today which is very nice to see for Christmas week, when volumes are typically far below the average.

Maybe last day tomorrow for an RNS from SNG in 2021… I can’t see them releasing one on Christmas Eve and a half day market. Nor the 2.5 days trading between Christmas and New Year. But you never know…!

I do wonder what relevance ACTIV-2 now has? If SPRINTER P3 comes off, presumably SNG will become widely used and would not need ACTIV? Unless SNG001 could only be used in the hospital setting for more severe cases, as this is where SPRINTER focused on?

Conversely, if P3 failed then you’d think ACTIV P3 would be really up against it, given that the mild cases in the home setting isn’t as favourable for us as the hospitalised cases?

Just checked on the BT. Looks like it is all in their Biotechnology fund. £1.2bn in side, c.13% (approx £150m) of that in small cap. So £30m in SNG is a decent chunk for what is a still a very small company and a reasonable risk.

On a positive note, they sold 1 million shares and the SP didn’t budge. Still, I was hoping for a different RNS!!

Bit surprised but perhaps they are rebalancing their portfolio, and as SNG has gone up recently, that means selling a few to bring it back in to line.

Looking very doubtful now for news pre Christmas. Shame. And only two full days trading between Christmas and New Year. I suppose we knew this would likely be the case.

TBH, I wouldn’t want them to announce anything between Christmas and New Year because it probably wouldn’t have the impact we want with so many investors on their hols.

Ndn71, you could be right but typically the bulk of trading volume is seen in the first hour of the day, with a little bit of a pick up in the last half hour. No surprises there and is very typical. There is usually extremely little volume between these times but the volume chart yesterday showed a significant increase in volume from 2.30pm… I haven’t run the numbers but it must be 10-fold (I’ll check later!). That is definitely not normal trading churn, for SNG at least.

All pretty irrelevant for us as LTH’s and waiting for readout. Just a bit of fun and helps to keep the boredom at bay while we wait! :D

BeContrarian, volume was very interesting again yesterday. It was a very quiet day again until 2.30pm until when I thought we’d struggle to break 1 million shares traded. Then boom, we ended up over 2.2 million and the largest volume for December so far!

We’ve debated before whether this is the US, but it certainly looks that way. Again, will be interesting to see what it does today. Volumes typically extremely thin in Christmas week but of course SNG is a little bit different right now.

In the current climate and with Omicron on every headline, I genuinely wouldn’t be surprised to see positive Omicron IV results doubling the SP. I’ll be mildly disappointed if they don’t get these out this week.

Matterhorn, just to be clear I do not think the numbers will be vague. But equally, plenty of the analysis on data collected won’t be as simple as a yes or no.

Re the 5 topline data points you mention, I still don’t see how getting answers to those would take too much time, or certainly not beyond mid January.

Ultimately, we have no control. We just have to wait. But things seem to be getting out of control again with Covid. Putting aside the fact I’m an investor who wants to see SNG make lots of money, they really do need to get it out there and helping. I’m sure they are working as fast as they can to do this.

cmww2014, that would fall into the bracket of vague data that needs further analysis to back it up. But I think what theboyg is trying to say is if the very high level analysis shows no deaths, incredibly efficacy etc, then governments/health agencies should be made aware of it so production could potentially be put into motion in readiness, and it can start saving lives.

However, I think it was Ndn71 who made the comment that if the data is not so clear cut then SNG might need to manoeuvre the numbers around to reflect SNG in the most favourable way possible.
