MrCosts, would you rather they didn't attend these conferences, networking and getting known? Activ-2 for example we couldn't do anything but wait, so why not attend as many events as you can?

Gunto is right to remind us of this statement from Synairgen last month:

"Synairgen continues to actively pursue and refine multiple clinical approaches including company- and investigator-sponsored studies and possibly platform studies (as and when appropriate), to confirm the most expeditious clinical development path for SNG001 in patients hospitalised due to a severe viral lung infection including SARS-CoV-2, influenza, RSV, adenovirus, parainfluenza and rhinoviruses."

There might be some "rampy" and enthusiastic investors on here, but that's the same with every forum. But equally, forums such as these are here for genuine investors to postulate, hypothesise, sense check their logic and thinking, call it whatever you will.

My take on the above statement from Synairgen is positive because they have used the word "refine" which would suggest to me that something is there or thereabouts decided and is indeed being refined. In addition, I'd also suggest this is outside of a platform trial because they say "including company and investigator-sponsored studies" but explicitly state only "possibly" including platform trials. They could have put possibly to it all but didn't.

Anyway, all IMO and personally I find it quite fun to try and work out what is going to happen next.

My impression from the AGM was very much that SSH is just a figurehead now, and does not get involved with anything to do with the running of the company and probably much of the science now.

I know we all like a football analogy so I’d like him to Sir Alex Ferguson. Always there at the matches and an ambassador of the club, but actually has little influence in how the club is now run.

Lovely guy, though. You could see he’s not interested in money but wanting this to succeed and help people.

HSD - that is a possibility but you’d think if they were recruiting for their own trial and not a platform trial (i.e. shareholder fundraise needed) that they’d make sure shareholders were willing to stump up first. Then again, I suppose there’s only one shareholder who matters. Maybe they’ve put the call in to Polygon to see if they’d be willing to go for it and then assume us mere PI’s will go for it also and are putting plans in place.
And thinking out loud, I also suppose there’s nothing stopping them doing interviews and all but offering the employment contract until the raise was done and dusted.

My guess would still be it’s more likely to be a platform trial than our own.

You don’t have a crystal ball. You might be stopping prospective investors from making some money.

And if you are some hero, holier than thou oracle looking to be so nice and stopping people investing and losing money, you’d surely be a bit nicer how you go about things.

If you could just bid outright at 29.9%, what would be the point of having this rule! Simply, if you bid at 29.9% for the remaining 70.1%, you are “interested in carrying 30% or more of the target company”!

HSD - I’m pretty sure that’s wrong. If you think logically, it’s illogical. Why would anyone buy shares to go from 29.9% to 30%? You’d just bid at 29.9%!

MrCosts - are you saying you allowed a bunch of strangers on a niche forum to persuade you to invest 100’s of thousands into a small pharma stock!?

HSD - Polygon wouldn’t bid right now. They’d have to offer c.£2 per share. Better for them to wait until February.

Mrcosts had the opportunity to go to the AGM and moan to RM in person. He chose not to and instead pain us everyday.

I'm a small investor in Petro Matad, took up some shares in the 3.5p raise and it's even smaller now.

I check in here barely on a monthly basis but looking from afar, I agree MB as a CEO should keep in better contact with investors. They've had contact with the embassy to tell them of the problems, so why not let investors know there are indeed problems and they have sought assistance from the embassy? Sure, the SP might have taken a hit, but look at it right now!

A question on the finances of the company... presumably cash burn is very small? Other than the salaries, of course! So how long can MATD keep the lights on for while this situation is (hopefully) resolved?
