Gunto - they didn’t know for sure they would pass SPRINTER. They were very confident/hopeful call it what you will. My concern is that they feel very confident again but don’t know anything for certain, so I suppose we can’t get too excited about the job advert given the previous form.

Ghia - if they were to get on a free PT, I’m sure we could make the cash last until it finished. Even if it did mean RM and co taking some pay cuts and the heating having to stay off.

But I suppose the question then is, are they recruiting because they know something? Or are hoping for something, like pre SPRINTER?

But no, I don’t see a SPAC being plausible. If BP wants us, just offer £200m or some amount that will tempt holders to sell out. It’s a nothing amount of money to them if they truly believe it’s a drug that could work.

Another stock I keep half an eye on (Silence Therapeutics) was listed on AIM and ended up leaving and listing in the US. Quite straightforward. Synairgen could do the same but what’s the point… I don’t see how it would help us get on a trial. And surely that’s all that matters now.

It then goes on to talk about Synairgen ad nauseum.

I think the point you're trying to make is that if Synairgen go bust or have nothing in the offing, that this person can go and work on something for Ashfield. I really don't think that's the case.

Perhaps. But it did show that SNG were willing to recruit without absolutely concrete news. They were anticipating a positive P3 result. Could they now be anticipating (but not know for sure) a new P3 trial?

So far it hasn’t budged the SP. A case of inefficient markets? We’ll see.

Elsol - quite the leap for us to get to EUA when it seems we can’t (as yet) find ourselves a trial.

Andrewpcapp - you might be right. But I struggle to believe we’re hiring people on the off chance. We’re running out of money “to keep the lights on” so surely we wouldn’t be spending $240,000 on a new US hire for no definite reason. Equally, why would someone so senior come to work for Synairgen without some reassurances?

wpa5 - of course, we must remember we passed ACTIV-2 P2. SAB, who also passed, were then mercilessly dropped and told no P3. Synairgen have never been told the same…

I do also share mxv1000’s cautiousness. We have indeed already been here once with recruiting.

I'm confident, in a 60/40 sense. And I'm not keen on statements like "news coming this week" with nothing to back it up.

I'm hopeful we'll get the LP. But I'm not convinced it'll be anytime soon. I will be happy to eat humble pie if I'm wrong and buy you a beer with my considerable profits if it comes good :)
