If the production numbers are good and/or there is other good news to add, then they’d be best getting it RNS’d tomorrow or latest Thursday. To leave good news till Friday before the Christmas break or the few non days between then and New Year would be rubbish with volume down and the maximum benefits gone.

Bob - I only invested a matter of weeks ago, a small punt. I like to build up a stake slowly so I can learn the stock inside out. Safe to say I’ve learned a lot here quickly and won’t be adding to my holding. Average in price is around 1.9p and it’s painful, so I can only imagine how some here must be feeling. But that’s the nature of these stocks.

It’s like attending a funeral on here tonight. Bad day today but I thought the JV ultimately was a bonus, even though I thought the SP would fall if it fell through.

Antha - I wouldn’t consider 1800bopd bad news. I’d be overjoyed at that and think the SP would recover somewhat.

I do have concerns though as stas says that there is relentless BH selling and it does seem like the company is run by crooks. This company is as badly run and as uncommunicative as I’ve ever come across. And I’ve only been here two minutes.

Ojay - WOS spouts positive stuff everyday, from 5am onwards!!!

But the positives? As SS says, we do seem to be progressing, albeit at snail pace. And you'd think the Mongols do need oil. And they do seem to want foreign investment so it wouldn't be good look to shaft a company that has played ball.

Panama, it would have been unknown or, at best, inside information, something Atlas would not know, no matter how much due diligence they did. I think they’ve just been diddled like the rest of us or are banking on the production numbers being very good.

Master - MB might be a slacker but we don't know for sure. We do know he lies, though.

However, most of the blame must go to the Mongols.

They HAD to RNS it... it's a TR-1 and a regulatory requirement due to them breaching the threshold!!!

Atlas clearly didn't have a clue. They are down 50% on their investment in the blink of an eye.

Atlas clearly didn't know anything. If you knew the JV was off, you'd never have bought as it was clear the SP would fall.

The optimistic view would be that COPL know production is now flying and fancy going it alone. The pessimistic view is that the JV partner didn't like the thought of working with COPL and bailed out.

All that matters now, and all that is left(!) is to make sure we get the production numbers up. Otherwise, those billions of barrels of oil won't be getting extracted by COPL and we won't see anything of this.

Carmzy - that doesn't mean us PI's will necessarily see the benefit of any of it. COPL in its current form could easily go bust or be diluted even further.

For those that claimed the JV was not priced in, well that is clearly not true, hence the significant decline today in the SP.

If the SP rises materially from here, it will be down to blockbuster production numbers.

As for the comment earlier that a JV is dilution. Yes, of sorts. But we would’ve had half of something that was much bigger.

Let’s hope the update, due within a matter of days now, has lots of good news.

It looks like Atlas have several £BILLION under management. So a £1m buy to them is like us flipping 2 pence at this. Still, good to have a buyer of that size somewhat supporting the SP.
