Responding to Andyb4 and MrC19 Aug 2022 22:46
Just to illustrate how damaging it is when everyone responds to the junk posted by Ab4 and MrC - take a look at the threads and how much time this board spends debating under the damaging thread titles - and how little time is devoted to legitimate business as all this commendable but pointless counter-activity is taking place.
This weeks concerted attacks started on Tuesday morning and ended early yesterday morning.
Between 11.24 on Tuesday 16th when Andyb posted " 15p and below = good buy in price for speculative gamble " - which was replied to 30 times - and 8.30am on Thursday 19th when he lamely posted "Guess the price at the end of the week" and was told to eff off 4 times, they were very busy - but the respondents were even busier.
Andyb and MrC started 9 threads in almost 2 days and between them garnered 125 replies. Most of these came on Andybe4's posts as MrC is now largely ignored. The majority of action was on Wednesday 17th when the board went mad for more than 18 hours. At the same time ADVFN (the only other board I monitor ) was also in a strange zombie frenzy.
Over the same period other posts on here garnered handfuls of replies, and some important research was lost in the dog fight
Was there any news to justify the prophesies of doom or the desperate responses ? No. Did the sp suffer greatly on 17th ? No. We're a few percentage points down week-on-week. Did it look and feel bad though ? Unquestionably yes.
The point here is that we let our board get hijacked for nearly 2 days - and whilst those who responded no doubt felt it imperative to counter the negativity - the effect in doing served only to let these thread titles dominate the board.
If we really feel we have to post the truth in the face of blatant lies then we should take a smarter approach.
Post with a new and positive thread title. Make exactly the same points but put it in your own wrapper. So" 20p incoming " from Ab gets zero responses - but the rebuttals still take place undr Gunto's "30p incoming" (or some such. )
none of this matters to us. We're not remotely swayed by the puerile attacks - but if you were looking in from outside you might think we were all swaying to their rotten tune.
