Covid was to be the platform for the multi-viral launch but until it's proven everything esle will be on hold.

I'm still confident we'll have a buyer if we find a paid-for trial. But that trial probably has to be STRIVE. I asked the question before about other platform trials and didn't get an answer. Would still like to hear about any candidates. Brazil has Together - but that's just for repurposed drugs. SNG didn't make the EU's 10 most promising candidates list which was finalised in late 2021 and comprised the usual big pharma suspects
The only other paid for platform trial that I'm aware of is the UK's Recovery - and that protocol (as it exists today) requires 8000 patients.
STRIVE is likely to be somewhere between 800 & 1000 -(based on the evidence I posted previously) and that is achievable in a reasonable timeframe.

Won't add any more on this - it's old news but given what he had to face in the White House, Fauci is probably THE hero of the whole pandemic.

It's still incredidly odd though - Stacey highlighted - literally highlighted in bold type - the things she wanted to emphasise, such as Brii's application for EUA - and obviously she didn't bother to mention all of the agents., but they were ALL there. Nobody else was missed off completely. Even many that failed were still there. SNG got its mention in another place but I'm still very puzzled at why we were missed from this slide particularly as TLR are still outstanding.

btw Do you plan to answer the TL / Pall questuion posed by Fruits ? Just so that we know whether we're looking for 2 different hands to shake or just one, when the time finally comes :)

Next time Org or Tommy are in touch with Stacey could they please ask about the omission of SNG from the Activ 2 slide in her Grand Rounds presentation. I thought it was an oversight at the time but it's still very very odd. My positive spin was that it had been removed as it was already earmarked for another trial - but that was a seriously optimistic reading of the situation. She might let something slip in answering this question.

I'm in complete agreement with this. Not to denigrate the importance of everything else for window dressing, but the next trial is all that matters. If the regulators of the few big platforms have not already been convinced of the SNG case by the Sprinter post hoc and (in the case of STRIVE at least ) the A2 data - then nothing is going to convince them.

They'll find no clinical benefit from Fluvoxamine - but the trialists all felt a lot better about themselves.

20th July - 13th Nov 2020 ..... 15 weeks between topline and Lancet peer review
SGO18 has 2 start points
21st Feb Top line.......... 26 weeks on and counting
16th May Deep Dive........ 14 weeks on and counting
Therefore - results in 1 more week if it's the same ballpark as SG016 - but realistically any day as some of the work will have been done between TLR and DD.

ACTIV 2
SAB-185 ( the only other Activ 2 candidate to release P2 data) delivered its A2 P2 data in 16 weeks. ( September 24th to Jan 24th) We completed P2 on October 20th and are 10 months on - exactly 6 months behind SAB in delivering the data. Which leads most of us to conclude that NIH (and possibly Synairgen) know and have known for a long time but are holding onto it for some other reason.

LC - due after peer review according to the company.

Platform Trial - STRIVE believed to be starting in early September. SA said they will notify AFTER it begins. Nothing tangible linking SNG to this but we are clearly a candidate. Beginning of a new platform and no guarantee SNG is on it, but not a diosaster if we are not the first agent announced. No speculation or information about other platform trials. NIH also launching outpatient trial but not near to launch. RM said he expects us to be dosing on a new trial this winter.

So in conclusion - yes - tomorrow is definitely possible. Peer Review could land at any time, Likewise Activ 2 data - unless they still need to hold it to coincide with STRIVE.
Early September for first chance at STRIVE - but also possible there's siomething else in the works. Sometime after Peer review for Long Covid analysis. It could all happen in the next month, or it could happen in stages over the next 6 months.

Posting this again just in case Manifesto tries to resurrect it in the future. I felt compelled to go direct to the publisher after ATS to settle a really stupid argument. Manifesto changed her tune from "we've been peer reviewed by ATS " to " it's not THE peer review - but it's A peer review" when she saw this, but seems to have forgotten all about it in the period since. Hopefully we're done with it now.
We all agreed it was a great presentation and even better that the publication gave SNG pride of place and the editor opened his summary of the conference with an account of PM's presentation and expressed the professional opinion that "this study certainly stimulatesadditional research on interferon ß, for very specific allocated groups "

You call out FtC for negativity and then - in yet another paean of positivity - come out with a statement that is palpably untrue and demonstrably unrepresentative of the current situation. SP doesn’t tell the whole tale but clearly it rates our odds much lower than 50/50 - let alone the margin you suggest. It’s enthusiasm - nothing more sinister I’m sure - but we need to wait until we get onto a trial before this might remotely be true. And you need to temper your language if you’re going to be the arbiter of balance. Atb to you both
