We can't say without knowing average respiratory infection admisions at the 10 hospitals - but they must be fairly confident or they'd have opened at more than 10 trial sites. Obviously almost everyone who is positive will agree to giving samples - so take up will be almost 100%. They've allowed a year for recruitment anyway.
And yes - it has nothing to do with the main Covid PT.

dippfs Ghia's timescale looks right to me - at least 18 months to get results from this and then the same again easily to see a trial complete. Might even be 4 years if recruitment is slow.
But clearly this is not the main event. If RM is sright and SNG is in a trial this winter - or even better about to be announced on Strive - then the platform trial should complete well before Universal is even peer reviewed.
All hinges not just on getting a PT - but getting the right PT - preferably in the US with the existing relationship, tremendous network of trial sites, and constant flow of very ill patients. Strive basically

It's good news ( to most of us anyway ) that the mystery infection was not an entirely novel coronavirus and about to cause thousands of deaths. Legionaires is pretty rare and bacterial and not a danger to the world. The bonus in Prion's post that it still has a possible significance for SNG

Generous to a fault Hold but I fear the fruitiness and loopiness may be too deeply established for easy remedy. Anecdotal and personal experiences (such as those provided by the estimable Mrs Migs - who has testified that "the amount of cardiac issues/deaths is just off the scale " ) are not easily overturned by mere datasets - even datasets as impressively collated from your 153,720 real world Covid 19 patients.

It's unlikely any of the outstanding news will move the sp out of the 20s or possibly 30s. A2 data cannot be sensational ( with vaccinated trialists and an unhelpful commencing inclusion criteria) Peer review will at best confirm Synairgen's own analysis and LC will, if we're lucky offer a signal for further investigation.
The only thing that will move the baseline is inclusion on Strive - or another similar large PT for Covid (or possibly influenza)
If RM has something special up his sleeve for Wednesday - something substantive to back up the enigmatic question title - then we will move up - but if it's the same as today's trial news, something that could be described as academic and supportive rather than substantive - then the market will continue its indifference to Synairgen and our wait will go on.

You'd probably say that NIH would prefer a single dose injection to go alongside the tabs or replace Paxlo if it did eventually rebound. That's Lambda of course but it's in a similar place to SNG except with much bigger numbers. It fits with everything else they've done so far

you might be right Gunto. I think they can approve it without ordering millions of doses though. We know they're considering ending the free prescribing of Covid therapeutics at some point in the not too distant future and Brii would then just be a paid for option along with other therapeutics. We've also seen that S-217622 has started it's P3 on Activ and will finish in late October, and that's exactly the same mechanism as Paxlovid - with fewer of the safety concerns, so will pick up theat-risks who can't take paxlo. They clearly still want protease inhibitors and Mabs for outpatients - and they love the mRNA story - but hopefully there's room one solid new broad spectrum antiviral for inpatients.

Brii did great against Omicron. Stacey mentioned them in particular in her ACTIV presentation - I'm sure it's coming.
