RE: BA.2.7527 Aug 2022 11:23
Thanks Hatter here's a study showing how 10 monoclonals fared against BA2.75. The really interesting thing is that whilst it may knock out most of them including half of the Evusheld ****tail - it's the first Omicron variant that Sotrovimab is efficacious against and that is held in large supplies in the US and UK. Sotrovimab is still EUA'd I believe but not used for Omicron patients. I guess they'll throw it back into the fight if BA2.75 takes over. Not sure of any other drugs that have been resurrected after failing.
" Adintrevimab, bamlanivimab, casirivimab, etesevimab, and
imdevimab did not work against BA.2, BA.4/5 and BA.2.75
Importantly, while regdanvimab, sotrovimab, and tixagevimab did not exhibit antiviral
effects against BA.2 and BA.4/5, these three antibodies were functional against BA.2.75,
suggesting that these antibodies can be used for the therapy and prevention of BA.2.75 infection. "
