And Tommy - though we agree that STRIVE will happen - you really mustn't roll everyone up into your ball of anti-SNG agents. I've spent a considerable time over the last 2 years disagreeing with Joeydiamond but his commitment to Synairgen, both drug and company, and the quality of his posts has always been impeccable. He only said he "fears" the trial may be shelved and he has considerably more insight than most of us on here so if he says that he's entitled to be heard. Provided he explains the new CDC climate he's describing. You don't get to cancel everyone you disagree with.

Ghia - I think you did go too far with that wording. "switching" does imply they're abandoning Recovery. If you could have just accepted it was the wrong word, we'd have been spared another 3000 words from mani. Monkeypox is nothing.

Not sure why Joey posted what he did and would ask him to clarify in the morning - not inclined to read the whole sh.itshow of responses now but i will say....
1. STRIVE is designed for the Covid and post Covid landscape for a broad range of many killer diseases. It's had a lot of work over a long time, and it will eventually replace ACTIV - so i can't see it being cancelled.
2. If anyone is running trials for Monkeypox that's good - but it's low level stuff, and won't affect any other programmes that are dealing with more serious long term issues or with the direct and immediate threat of Covid. Monkeypox is not about to kill thousands or even hundreds.
3. Don't know enough about Recovery so would like that situation clarified. I DO know that it has probably delivered its BIG wins and that might be enough for the Govt to call a halt. Its remaining trialists need 8000 patients - and with Covid fading away for the time being are not going to finish even in 2 or 3 years.
But I never saw Recovery as a home for SNG anyway - so i don't really care.

That's all I have to say until hearing specific info. I'm pretty sure STRIVE at least will continue for the reasons i stated - but will look forward to clarification if Joey or cmw or anyone else has extra detail to add.

Joey v interesting. Following your theory through - and believing Synairgen when it says the A2P2 data has not been shared - it must mean that NIH is conducting this autoantibody sub analysis work itself ? Is this likely ?
Something is undoubtedly afoot - NIH has had SNG's data for 6 months longer than the 4 months it took to process and release SAB's data

Wondering why SNG was the only trialist missing across all of the ACTIV slides was a pretty fair question

I'm not interpreting it in any way as it's pretty opaque. The growing campaign to suggest his communications with her are phoney is pretty lame frankly. Getting her own name wrong is odd but hardly a smoking gun

I'm also not fussed about the lack of communication from the BoD. The AGM was a short time ago - we know what they're doing and it's reasonable now to let them get on with it, hoping it will end in success. No real sense in raking over the 2 years of below par communication. Doc83 has it right that the end of September is a reasonable point at which we start to get really concerned and his points about A2 data are really well made. My feeling is that results are unlikely to be stellar, as we were not pointed to the sickest patients at the start of the trial. Anyone over 18 could be prescribed SNG when we started recruitment. And many of our trialists could have been vaccinated towards the end of the trial. (from memory) We only had to beat placebo remember.Hope I'm wrong but it's most likely our best data came from Sprinter

I think we hope for A2 data soon and then wait to see who the first candidates are on STRIVE before really demanding more from the company.

Nobody else has EVER tried to attack someone for a typo. It's just completely crass.
I even suggested months ago that she should forget the little corrections that followed every post as we all knew who she was talking about when she wrote Mrasden - and as we all did exactly the same anyway don't worry about it. I mean who cares !!

not irked in the slightest my old fruit. Many others were very vocal about the poor RNS. I may have mentioned it once but certainly it's never been a pre-occupation and there's no inconsistency in not particularly taking SS's tub thumping statement at face value.
We're back where we always are with this though. Manifesto says something utterly ridiculous and the usual suspects turn out to back her up. Manifesto makes the same post half a dozen times a week. Desperate to convince herself that great things are happpening behind the wall of silence.

It's not complicated. Confirming Sprinter is ALL the company are engaged in now. That Simon Shaw quote is the chipper mission statement of a man who wants to paint as rosy a picture as possible. It's a practical realtiy that If SNG is authorised for Covid it will immediately jump to phase 3 in any other respiratory trials. Without an EUA for Covid it'll start at P2.

Jint - Manifesto used the phrase " throwing darts " - we just took her at her word.
Frankly though "many darts in the air " is also difficult - but it depends what the question was.

Synairgen is in the fight of its life to convince someone to take the drug forward for Covid. There is nothing else.

Covid was the chance of a lifetime for Synairgen, despite RM's ridiculous comment that "it's difficult to conduct trials ina pandemic" ( when that pandemic delivered millions of potential trialists. ) We're all hoping the company still has one good shot at it. That chance rests on a hypothetical: that we are correct in interpreting the ACTIV pause positively and believe NIH is looking at our drug with kind eyes, and one impressive reality: the strength of the Sprinter post hoc analysis. We need these 2 elements to combine to get us back on track.

If SNG fails a covid platform trial the company will be finished long before the next AGM Manifesto

I think most of us would see this as wishful thinking Mani - but you're determinedly optimistic, and that's to your credit.
"Throwing darts" is not a phrase that fills me with any confidence I must say.
