RE: MERS might appear now!13 Dec 2022 22:24
Since the beginning of 2022, and as of 10 November 2022, three MERS-CoV cases have been reported in Qatar (2) and Oman (1), including one death. All three cases were primary cases, having reported contact with camels.
From 22 March to 3 April 2022, two laboratory-confirmed cases of Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV), including one death, were reported to the WHO by the National IHR Focal Point of Qatar. Both cases had frequent close contact with dromedary camels and consumption of their raw milk in the 14 days prior to the onset of symptoms.
So - unless the English fans have been guzzling raw dromedary milk and french kissing their mounts, it might be presumed that the chances of any of them bringing back the disease are infinitessimally small. If a Mers outbreak did somehow occur despite this evidence, the chances of SNG being deployed are even smaller.

Plenty of great science to divert us though until our numbers come up...
The P2 of Merck and Moderna's mRNA melanoma vaccine showed that treatment with the experimental vaccine in combination with the immunotherapy (Keytruda) reduced the risk of cancer recurrence or death by 44%.
Nothing much in this for us - but Australia will be pleased, and it seems it should work with most every other cancer too.
And in the US - they've proved that Nuclear Fusion works - which means the planet may survive after all, Elon's wish to die on Mars will be granted, and Synairgen should have time to get its drug across the line. ( bit miffed at this as I've been working on it too for quite a while, and they appear to have stolen a march. Fair dos though - if it works )
