It does matter if Astrazeneca has reconnected. That would be 2 BPs rather than 1 BP still interested in Synairgen. But clearly it's not a smoking gun.

yes - I guess that's the most likely explanation. But this has been updated several times and at any of these the error should have been spotted and corrected.
Is it possible AZ joined after the Southampton Uni trial site nd Synairgen's RNS - and it's those records and not the register that are out of date ?

Thanks Aether always amazed me that people denied AZ were co funders - reading just the RNS and not the trial registry. It is bizarre that it isn't mentioned in the RNS as you say Doc

Aether the US job was advertised in many locations in the States - including New Brunswick. I wasn't aware it had been filled but the thread suggesting a join-the-dots connection was trying too hard and pretty weak. The job itself was a positive enough signal.

Aether As far as the trial registry shows, UNIVERSAL is running at just 2 sites at the moment. If anyone can see deeper into it to contradict this I'd be grateful. Its enrollment completion date has moved 3 times and is now set for Nov 30th 2023. End date is still June 24. Obviously enrollment and trial completion dates are moveable feasts but there must be a good reason for the changed enrollment completion dates.
It started recruiting in Sept 22 - so you'd hope they have pushed quite a few through - but if it really is still just at 2 sites there's no guarantee that they have significant numbers yet.

As SNG001 is not part of the trial the best we can hope for from this is IfN data that supports the multi-virus case but it is unlikely to be definitive and if it does take till mid 2024 there's a good chance the company won't be around to see the end. In short - it's not the answer to the current predicament, and is only really relevant if it points to a more meaningful but so far hidden relationship with Janssen.

To answer your question - yes it can come good, but only if we are still a candidate for STRIVE or if a BP has been looking at us quietly with a cold appraising eye.

HPHQ It was reported and reasserted several times on here that RM said he had a "high degree of confidence" of a winter trial. Nobody said he was forced into a corner and blurted it reluctantly.
Manifesto's assessment at the weekend is the correct one I'm sure. That on the back of the excellent Sprinter deep dive and all the other good news floating around, RM felt the company was in a good place and was confident and as it turns out over-confident that something important was about to happen. And of course it may still.
I don't think the confidence was born of anything substantial though. Doc83 speculated that he might have had a nudge about STRIVE - but I think that unlikely, although I think the most talked about US hire makes most sense in connection with STRIVE

Aether - no, not planning to attend. Still hopeful we'll have news before the AGM, and if we don't there will be little point in asking why not. The Antimicrobial Drugs Advisory Committee said the drug's benefits outweigh the risks when used to treat mild to moderate COVID-19 in adults who are at high risk for severe disease, hospitalization or death.

The FDA typically follows the committee's recommendations and is expected to officially approve Paxlovid.

Synairgen will get some extra tax credit cash back for 2022. A much smaller amount than the £9.2M for 21 - and probably smaller than in 2020. It will be able to claim in 2023 - but without any significant outlay - and we know there hasn't been anything significant - the sums will be insignificant.
The announcement yesterday is welcome for the sector but has no relevance to any company not engaged in research, trialing or trial preparation or development. If Synairgen does spend some of its dwindling resources on a minor trial of some sort - it will get 27% back.
