Sure the whole BoD has been glued to their sets again this evening. Scoping out strategies for when J&J swoop in with a lowball offer and wondering who will be on the kill list when RM accepts it. We love them - but are they serious people ?

This is the Abatacept P3 that led to inclusion on STRIVE. Topline was released in June 22 - 4 months after Sprinter.
"no statistically significant change in time-to-recovery, but improved 28-day mortality. " That improvement was 38% lower odds of dying. Good numbers.
Question is why they haven't already applied for an EUA. The P3 was 1019 patients and the numbers are very good. Must have been close if it has led to this P4 on STRIVE.
Death - or its absence - is the effective Primary endpoint on STRIVE too.

Good chance they'll run out of clean sheets and the trial'll be abandoned after a couple of weeks

my uptick was in sympathy for the heartfelt sentiment and the memory of that shocking day - rather than for the final paragraph. If this year has led to nothing then changing the CEO won't make a difference. Every big pharma and trialing agency knows the SNG data intimately. If RM has been absent to us the company he leads has been very busy. We've either got something, or for some reason they just don't rate the drug.

Let's try to tread the middle ground for the next week or so. No sense in getting too excited or being too downbeat. We know all of the permutations and lnow the drug should be a strong candidate for more than one trial. Mustn't get ourselves to the point where no significant news ends up as a disaster. That's what the traders are hoping for. If STRIVE is still out there it will arrive in its own time. If TOs or JVs are in the offing they will come with a thunderclap from a clear blue sky.

We know where SNG should be trialed again and it's not in the outpatient setting. And it might be that there are no new candidates for PANORAMIC.
Plenty of good links posted recently that might provide a route forward for SNG001 - but not this one.

You're prating to yourself as usual. My observation is that Paxlovid will struggle to match uits EUA data and that Panoramic is probably not for SNG. Amd I wondered why Titania had made the post. Debate these points if you like but don't mistake cut and paste for erudition or insight.

Still don't know why Titania posted it. Old news and nothing significant to add afaics. It's not the trial for SNG001 though.
ACTIV 2 was abandoned because of low rates of Omicron-related hospitalization and deaths. In the year since this news was confirmed, community immunity has increased and the virus has not mutated in a dangerous way - so trialing for outpatient treatments is becoming increasingly difficult. Highly likely that Paxlovid's PANORAMIC data will not match its EUA data.

It's always been a multi agent trial Mani. Molnupiravir, then Paxlovid. It isn't closing as far as we know so there's every chance they'll add another agent. Likely they'll want another tablet though and self evident that SNG's 14 day regime is not as attractive as a 5 day tab - although of course SNG is not limited by 5 days after symptoms.

My question though is to ask what "information" has been shared in Titania's post about PANORAMIC ? We've discussed this trial before on here and most dismissed it as a possible vehicle for SNG. It started in December 21 with Molbupiravir - which failed - and Paxlovid was the second drug, added almost exactly a year ago. SNG had already passed P2 on ACTIV 2 when the trial started so there was zero interest. Have I missed something new in the link ?

Waite Nobody is sayiing there's no art or expertise in the animations - and i speak from my own long experience too. The slides might be useful for non science journos but at this stage in the journey of SNG they are of zero value in any real commercial or scientific sense. Everyone at NIH and J&J knows precisely what Ifns are, how an inhaled therapeutic works, and the difference between host directed and direct acting antivirals. If we are announced as the next candidate on STRIVE and the Express's science bloke is in Ibiza on his stag, they might help the gardening correspondent get up to speed.

If these really are new animations - and I haven't seen them before - they are long overdue.

The first 2 could have been made at any time in the last 20 years. #3 is the only one that uses the experiences of the last 3 years - referencing the ultimate failure of individual Mabs agianst Omicron to explain why host-directed might be preferable - but they signal nothing more than this, and as a page it is aimed at the meanest level of comprehension. Non-science Journos and schoolchildren will find it useful when SNG is finally crowned but nobody who might buy the company or include SNG on a trial would be remotely interested.

Good to see elevated levels of positivity on the board recently but I'm not expecting our announcement on a trial to coincide with scheduled events. Not the big trial we're hoping for anyway. Against this is the fact that Shionogi did let the cat out of the bag before NIH made the public announcement - and there was a significant gap between the two events, so it IS possible that the next candidate has been told already and might be lining up its ducks for an RNS. But beyond this there's no direct evidence that SNG is that candidate. RM could have very easily said without prejudice at any time over the last year: " Yes we're in constant communication with NIH about the best route forward - and yes STRIVE is a route we're exploring " or even " STRIVE is a good program - continuing the work began by ACTIV ..."

agree with almost everything you post on here Doc83 - but not this. If the BoD was given a completely free ride - as they were - after the horrors of Sprinter, do you really think any of the decent gentlemen and ladies who attend this AGM will do anything more a year down the line. If nothing turns up before the AGM the believers will mostly still believe and the doom merchants will have their pointless fun, and the rest of us will sit looking at the slips of paper in the empty coffers and shake our heads and hold onto them like grim death until the landlord calls last orders and pulls down the shutters.
But nobody will be critical or particularly vocal to their faces. RM will say they're all working round the clock and still confident that SNG will find a way forward. He never made any specific promises and you know - the landscape is so much more difficult now for trialing...just like it was before Covid. It takes years.. And you'll applaud politely - because it is after all true and what's the point of asking if they're worth the money they're paid - and then you'll go to the bar for a couple before the train home.
