Building towards multiple P2 trials - i guess for different conditions separately as no permission or protocol possible for a trial with the inclusion criteria of UNIVERSAL (which is where it needs to end up)
P2 will likely mean circa 100-120 patients - back to SG016 scale and targeted very specifically.

STRIVE might still have us in its sights and in the longer term someone might one day be able to harvest the nuggets of gold from all this good data. Without STRIVE I'd say there's zero chance of Synairgen ever commercialising SNG - but we'll have supported (at huge personal cost admittedly ) important trialing of a drug that might still be of use. If it does get to market it'll have a Pfizer or AZ sticker on it, and that fine - if big pharma had been engaged after P2 it would already be approved and in use in hospitals.
If we get an answer to the STRIVE question at the AGM, we'll know which future lies in store.

TP's point about the commercialisation hires must at least be addressed - not that it will make any difference to the outcome if STRIVE doesn't come galloping up. Those people are doing absolutely nothing and need to be gone now.

What is clear is that unless STRIVE$ comes through - as it still might - this company and share really is now firmly in Ghia's bottom drawer. Small scale cash restricted trials and investigations looking to further refine the target population will take a very long time - when one big repeated P3 for Covid would have achieved all of the aims. Creeping incremental advances in a post Covid world.
Simon Shaw's comment about being in conversations with potential trial sites shows you that having done the platinum card world tour with Sprinter they'll be staycationing for a long time to come. Maybe back to the 6 core sites that started the whole thing off in 2020.
I'd like someone to ask about STRIVE at the AGM please - that's the only remaining question. Have they applied ? And to not let them off with the usual stock answer about conversations etc.

Going it alone until they reach a point where they need funds for the multi-virus trial. Keeping the platform trial possibility open but not waiting for it.
Not sure what else they could be doing really - without any offers of support or a place on a free trial, they're pursuing the science, but it will take a long time and at its end, as has been clear for a very long time, they'll need more money or external support to do anything significant.
I don't know how the market will react but it's unlikely to be positive.

The clock only started ticking in earnest when the deep dive was released on May 16th. Less than a year still - just.
Agreed that concerns of PIs mean nothing, and as long as TFG is either supportive or stuck, then only they will effect change. But as I've said before I don't think it's important.
Everyone who matters has seen the data. If they don't like it enough to give the drug a trial or make an offer for the company - then it hardly matters who the guv'nor is.

What is certain is that we are in a closing window. Whether the closing will take 3 months or a year or even two is not the issue - but without encouraging news soon the SNG001 story will inevitably reach its end, and replacing the CEO or anyone else will make no difference to this. The data is out there and has been presented repeatedly. Influential backers have supported its progress. Host directed therapies are at the heart of the next phase of Covid and Respiratory virus trialing strategies. Billions of new money has been committed and this new money will see new treatments emerging for every respiratory infection.
If SNG001 is what we thought it was when we invested then it will still find a way - whether with Synairgen or with a new owner. That's the big concern for us all. "We know it works" has been the mantra for as long as we've all been opening the lids of our laptops - and this has empirically been shown to be true. But "Does it work well enough ? " is the real question we will be asking if the long months of discussion and presentation have not led to something concrete by the time of the AGM.
