Doesn't matter when they start - but hopefully they're up and running well before Feb 24. Last year we had that horrible cold snap in November and that would have filled the rheumy wards for the whole of December and Jan. Best case scenario must be that trail design is almost done and they complete all of these trial-lets this winter. More relevant is whether they manage to start the P3 in the winter of 24/25 and whether it taskes one or 2 winters to complete. Or whether it doesn't begin till the following winter.

Presumably the P3 will not need to be quite at the traditional scale of 1000 punter traditional P3s - as it will be so forensically targeted. Maybe 600 will be sufficient this time. Won't be Synairgen'[s sole decision by that point thankfully as they'll have to take on a major partner to do anything substantial

SS: No, insofar that we would not be selling SNG001, but possibly yes, insofar that we might have a commercially viable product that has been proven.

They will not have a commercially viable product that has been " proven " within 12-18 months. The P3 that would lead to this will not start until at least the winter of 24/25 - more likely the winter of 25/26 and the former requires the P2s to start and finish in the coming winter. So your open lable and identified patients will speed things up a little but not faster than the single winter window I've allowed for the P2s. And there's also no evidence they've had any input from UNIVERSAL at this point although you'd hope data will be available for the P3 design

And recruitment will be glacially slow. These are highly targeted patient groups. Certainly for the small P2s - which could easily fail if the wrong patients get drug and placebo and probably even slower for the P3 when P2 analysis lets them home in on a tiny target population. Trying to prove this drug in such a rarified population, which excludes almost everyone who's ill, even if they're in hospital, could take years.

Let me offer a more realistic timeline from here - so that people don't start asking RM at next year's AGM why the P2's haven't finished yet.

1 P2 Winter 23/24 Trials start and complete by March 30th 2024 Incredibly optimistic as they haven't finished designing the trials yet and there's complexity in multiple trials even if small - but let's say it happens...

2. P2 Analysis peer review & P3 design - March 24 - Oct 24. 6 months: a crazy short time for this process - but again let's say they burn the midnight oil and break all records.

3. P3 commences dosing November 2024 Highly unlikely they're starting the P3 8 months after finishing P2 but again - being optimistic. Takes up to 2 winters to find 800- 1000 patients. With a dilitory partnership or fundraise.

4 P3 readout anytime between May 2025 and May 2026. (depending on how quickly they complete P3. Most likely the latter - it took 14 months to recruit 600 patients for Sprinter in the pandemic and this will take much longer

5. Analysis and submission for authorisation May 2026 - May 2027 (depending on #4)

Only thing that could speed this up is if the interim analysis of the P3 is so good they stop the trial - but that's kind of factored in anyway with the latitude for P3 dosing.

well done you two - and the other lths who roasted them all so thoroughly. that pre-presentation q&a will have left them in no doubt how little regard many of us have for their efforts over the last 2 years. hopefully the lunch we paid for was ruined. they've all failed comprehensively. taken the trust we had in their competence and the funds we placed in their hands and turned it all to ashes. shrugging off the sprinter failures as hey ho - **** happens and isn't hindsight a wonderful thing. we got some decent data though - eh - and now we know where we should be looking for the crock of gold.! casually dropping that one of the main hires was a mistake - and admitting unofficially that the manufacturing guy has gone part time because there's be nothing manufactured since 2021.

i didn't want or think we needed a comprehensive review of this year's event but i'm really glad you provided it, for it shows perfectly what a bunch of bungling amateurs they all are. the 3 founders must be utterly bewildered and dismayed that rm has muffed the biggest opportunity there could ever be to turn their wonderful discovery into a world class drug - but hey as rm said " it's difficult to conduct trials during a pandemic " - and as pm said " it's diffult to conduct trials after a pandemic "

Fair enough tommo - it seems there is a big reassessment of the response to the pandemic taking place now, and the UK's inquiry has already been told that lockdowns may have saved just a few thousands lives, whilst the economic and wider healthcare damage claimed many more and caused untold suffering.

What we have to hope is that if this ever happens again we'll be able to protect the most vulnerable without having to lockdown the whole planet. SNG might play a small role in this protection if it ever finds its way across the finishing line.

Thanks Jakman - we thought it must be a PT at the time (altho some were pushing the JV narrative then ). Don't blame him for his optimism but he really shouldnt have expressed it in quite the unequivocal way that he did. In fact, without having something specific in train - he should have kept his mouth shut. That one line created a false narrative on this bb and elsewhere and sustained the most optimistic posters for 9 months . And more importantly may have delayed the company focusing on the future as they've done now

I don't think any of us were convinced we'd get onto STRIVE - but on paper the case was strong and it was the big and obvious hope in relation to RM's optimism. As far as I know nothing has changed with STRIVE though - they certainly haven't said they're not recruiting and there will still be a need to treat the most ill covid patients. Plus it was always intended to adapt to trial treatments for other respiratory viruses - which it can still do. But Covid is almost over (barring an umlikely mutation ), and it's reasonable to assume they won't bother adding any new trialists for C19. WHO recorded just 218 weekly deaths globally to June 26th this year - compared to 13k last year - 53k in 2021 and 36k when it all began in 2020.

The big question - which i hope someone asked - is what happened to RM's winter trial ? Was he looking ahead to these mini multiviral trials or did he have hopes of something else. It can't really have been these trials as there'd have been nowhere near enough time to design and get themall the way through to dosing. So logic says it must have been a ready made platform trial.

I'm of the same mind - will wait for Wigster and Doc's summary and maybe add a few final thoughts but it'll serve us all well to leave this alone now. Even when the trials start there will be a very long period without substantive news. UNIVERSAL should pop up at some point which will be interesting, but they wouldn't be doing any of this if STRIVE was a possibility, so there's only this long long road ahead.

Agree with that - and definitely wait until the dust from the AGM has settled. Sp seems fine today and there's no particular reason to think it'll go down - but it really might, and a couple of p at this level is 25% of your investment. Much less chance of a sudden rise as meaningful news is now so far in the future. And probably just a small chance of a T/O before more proof is generated.

Brand - who are the patient groups in which your 5 testing subsets are found ? COPD ? Asthma ? RSV ? Covid ? Flu ? Or will they be found in the same way as UNIVERSAL ie any respiratory patient admitted and tested positive.

Thanks Wigster - echoing other thoughts for your partner's swift recovery. You and Doc really don't need to produce anything like the excellent summary from last year, particularly with other more important things on your plate.

We read the slidedeck and unless they said more in the q&a ( assume there was one) then we really don't need to hear more. Long, long road is the takeout - which we knew already and with only a small chance of success or survival at the the end of it. How do you dilute to raise the funds you'll undoubtedly need from 5p or 6p ?
