I noticed that this morning. The guard vessel (GV) Morning Dawn is also heading back and I have not seen a replacement so I guess they are trusting on the heavy weather.

Wednesday you said: “The actual situation is the weather is too marginal to risk another failed hook up so they’ve made the sensible decision to head back to shelter. The implications of another failure are not palatable.”

And I agree but it strikes me as rather odd to now say they should have continued the transit and made an attempt today. Windy is showing 2.4m at best which is worse than on the last occasion, far too risky imo.
I do think they were somewhat hasty in making the decision to return but given todays conditions they made the right decision.

Yes I realize I misspelt Kraken. It’s a bit like Havila Venus reporting destination Warwik. Somebody moved the sea.

April 1st ; isn’t that fools day? I think it has been mentioned previously that there might be knock on from the delayed start at Kraken but by how much? And TO’s fleet status report did declare 19th March as the estimated start date for HUR’s contract.

Any thoughts on when TO Leader will spud on Warwick? I know it has been said in Q2 but that’s only three weeks away and they are about to pre lay the anchors.

There is still no sign of activity at Kracken to suggest she is about to up sticks, and will she go direct or via a yard for maintenance?

And is the prospect of Warwick drilling supporting the sp while we wait for hook up and FOIL?

I have to say that the apparent Friday WW had not looked that promising but having checked the “Windy” forecast there has been some improvement.

If anyone was in doubt about delivery of the new rope this should clarify the matter.

AS for one. Last year annual results were published on the 10th April so if the calendar for this year remains similar there will be ZERO revenue to report. If they had hooked up in January they could have had a tanker load.

It was the RNS on 21st January which advised of the rope breaking. It concluded with this sentence:
“A further announcement will be issued once hook-up has been successfully completed.”
I can only guess they said this because they did not want to announce arrival of the new rope and to say nothing would have left investors uncertain as to whether or not to expect a further announcement.

On the current forecast no but it is 5 days away so who knows. Wednesday had looked like a goer until yesterday but that's gone up in smoke.

I explained the presence of Morning Dawn in my reply to slipanchor yesterday at 11.32.
Ever since the buoy was installed they have had a guard vessel patrolling the area to ensure fishing vessels especially Spanish long liners do not get their gear entangled in the mooring system and risers. The guard vessel is usually a trawler and they don’t often show up on AIS because they are on the range limit for Scousburgh 2. They have had a number of different trawlers employed and previously they declared their destination as their departure port, usually Peterhead or Fraserburgh.
This is the first time that I have seen one actually reporting Lancaster.
