Hi Corunna, hope you are well. If I'm honest I can't remember what it was that you were wrong about?!
Firstly, to get something out the way I actually sold my entire position here on the morning of the RNS issued on 9th June. I scrutinise every single word of each RNS I read. I have found it is critical to do so, to be quite forensic or you can end up losing money short - medium - and long term. I deliberately did not post here following that sale because I thought it would be disingenous to do so and I had no wish to be seen as deramping in any way so I thought it best to say nothing.
Anyway, as regards your questions, I have been aware that cash has been very short recently so it was an issue. Thus, getting the placing out the way clears the decks and removes that market concern. So, all good there. I agree with you that I think the DF is, if not nailed on, very very likely. But one of the factors for me exiting my position - short term - is that I realised DF is not as close as we have all thought. Indeed I would not be surprised if it doesn't happen until sometime in July, possibly after mid month. Note the word 'hope' rather than 'expect' was used to describe DF in June. On the AIM market I do not place a lot of faith in the word 'hope'.
I was also rather alarmed by the tacit confirmation that Mologic ELISA Lab sales in the UK will now not happen having previously said they would. And the order for £100k in Senegal.....? Well, please let's not dwell on that.
Several things bothered me in that RNS. I didn't like that they have ditched their Allergy division. It seems quite a short term knee jerk reaction to me. They have invested MILLIONS in that area of the business! I'm sure it did not bother short term COVID punters at all but for me, having both followed and invested in this company - on and off admittedly, I thought it a bad move.
I also did not like the almost cursory mention of Visitect CD4 which has been a REALLY big deal for this company previously. The same goes with Food Intolerance which has been the main revenue earner and, in many ways, has funded the Allergy segment.
So, in summary, the 9th June RNS was very poor IMHO. I still think there is money to be made here but the upside probably is not as huge as we thought a few weeks ago. Post dilution the MC is now £83m at 47p. Typically, this kind of discounted placing will inevitably have a depressing effect on the SP and I would think it likely that in the absence of DF announcement - and I do NOT expect DF for at least another two weeks, possibly quite a bit longer this will slip back towards 40p once the dust settles.
I will look to re-enter around that level (40'ish) if indeed I am correct. We shall see.
Good luck to you and all holders here
