I think, in reality, we need to wait for the ‘real’ market reaction. No, not forecasting a boom but these are solid progressive announcements this morning. A stepping stone without a doubt to bigger things.

For me the most interesting comment of all by RM was :

Not Covid-19, not COPD but respiratory viruses.

This drug has the capability to treat a vide variety of viruses including Influenza. This is much more than just a Covid play which means the opportunity is not just short term, it’s medium term, it’s LONG term.

That leaves a lot of people still unprotected who may have other underlying health conditions that make them especially vulnerable.

Yes, it IS propaganda to pretend that a vaccine will be or could be the Golden Bullet.

A simple piece of research is all that anybody needs to do to reach that conclusion. And that is NO conspiracy theory. It’s statistical fact.

There is a suggestion today on this board that somehow a vaccine will supersede the requirement for effective treatments for Covid-19. WRONG! That the ‘clock is ticking’. This is incorrect. The clock is indeed ticking to get the treatment out there in time to save lives this winter. However let’s look at the effectiveness of the long established flu vaccine. Last winters figures in the UK:

49.9% effectiveness Aged 65+ for all vaccines and strains. A new vaccine increased that figure to 60%

In addition The report shows that the flu vaccine offered to those eligible for immunisation this season reduced the likelihood of visiting the GP because of flu by approximately 44%.

These figures - even with a vaccine with far greater longevity and reliability than the current untested vaccines - still leave up to a half of vulnerable patients liable to more serious illness and hospital admissions. Thousands of people.

There is a clear attempt on here to try and spread anxiety that a successful vaccine would negate the need for suitable therapeutic treatment. That would indeed be true if it were 100% effective. Sadly it isn’t, and won’t be, so we will STILL need suitable and effective treatments for Covid 19 WITH or WITHOUT a vaccine.

AscotMatt - to be fair the opinions of armchair ‘experts’ on this board cannot possibly be compared to the statements Made by industry experts such as Sir John Bell and the CEO of AstraZeneca. People ‘in the know’. It’s a rather pointless comparison. You can’t say what comes out their mouths is just ‘speculation’. Listen and watch the videos and you will see they were quite confident and authoritative in their statements. They were not ‘speculating’ when they said it. They were forecasting based on the information they had at the time. And you’d find it difficult to argue they didn’t have more info than posters here! Forecasting and speculation Two different things.

In addition I clearly recall the Astra Zeneca CEO very confidently forecasting, around the same time as Bell the Vaccine WOULD be available BY September.

My point is these forecasts are no more than propaganda. We should remind ourselves what these experts have previously predicted so the next time they spout this stuff people won’t be so easily drawn in. Wildly optimistic Forecasts where historical precedent is completely against these timelines. It takes YEARS to get a reliable vaccine out there.

Just yet more proof if proof were needed that there is massive manipulation and background shenanigans going on with this stock and has been for weeks now. It is utterly implausible that you could have an auction post market which results in ONE share at ten pence beneath the trading price. It hadn’t been close to 165 since 9.20 this morning!

I wouldn’t concern yourself about it. Simply means someone wants the price to be suppressed as long as possible and anyone who thinks that AIM is not a corrupt and manipulated market is kidding themselves. If no RNS on Monday this will enable mms to quickly take this down to 160 or so - then their mates can load up cheap again!

Trading volume today is definitely elevated compared to recent days and combined with SP rise that’s positive. Also noting that most of the delayed 5k+ trades are checked and confirmed buys.
