I don’t think he is specifically referring to SNG001. He can’t be because it is a different type of treatment (not direct inhalation into the lungs). Nevertheless it’s another indication of the acceptance of beta interferons as a treatment for COVID-19.

It seems inconceivable that Synairgen would not have applied to the EMA for SNG001 to be considered as a PRIME medicine treatment in the current September meeting finishing today. The EMA normally puts out a press release following the meeting.
I would expect any announcement to come through the stock market tomorrow but I suppose it’s possible things could get a bit leaky today. Not saying this WILL happen but there has to be a possibility.

I think it’s likely there will be one last SP dip prior to news. And when I say dip I mean anything down to 150. With low volume it’s quite possible. Be aware.

I feel very confident that the reason we have not yet had an announcement is exactly because Synairgen have entered into a NDA with a commercial partner (or partners). I believe that partner is Astra Zeneca. The time will be ripe to make the announcement probably to coincide with emergency authorisation to use SNG001 with both the MHRA AND EMA. I think the announcement will come either end of this week/start of next week. I believe the COPD data was the additional piece of data required to make the approval. Synairgen passed that hurdle. They have an excellent and sufficient safety profile.

That’s my call, let’s see if I’m right. Just a few more days to wait all imho.

Add : ignore all the noise. Ignore the continuing SP inertia. Patience is key here ;)

BigDano - I don’t think we’re close to home trial results yet. Possibly next month or November. They’ve struggled with recruitment.. BUT, a big but, I don’t think it is an issue for the impending announcement on emergency approvals etc. Will just reinforce what we already have for data when it arrives.

Absolutely oil you are punching thin air trying to argue against this now. The evidence, and the backing, is stacking up daily in favour of this as the ‘Go to’ treatment to both keep patients out of hospital AND get those patients in hospital back home. It will save many lives and save governments health departments many millions of pounds.

Let’s do this.

Org - yes they (peer reviews) can take many months - in normal circumstances - and who knows maybe even longer in these extraordinary circumstances. But thankfully I have a feeling it won't all rest on that being necessary now - given the circumstances. Big Pharma certainly aren't going to sit around twiddling their thumbs waiting - there is money to be made and they will have their own experts who can produce an analysis based on the data available.

Org30 - I think that is a perfectly reasonable viewpoint to think that maybe the case and I can see why you would think that. Perhaps there is a waiting game going on. Or on the other hand it maybe that there has been a lot to discuss, a lot to agree, and disagree on, legals and logistics to hammer out. Certainly not a small exercise. I don't necessarily think the peer review is complete yet. A Big Pharma partner, or even regulatory agencies or governments wouldn't necessarily wait for a peer review. I don't think we have long to wait to find out whats going to happen though.

UK patients on ventilation passes 100 for first time since July

BBC News latest:
The number of patients in mechanical ventilation beds across the UK has passed 100 for the first time in nearly two months
There were 106 patients on ventilation in the UK on Monday - the first time the figure has been over 100 since 24 July.
UK-wide figures for today are yet to be published but there were 101 patients on ventilation in England on Tuesday.

I can appreciate these figures are still relatively low but it is the trend that is worrying.
