If these are indeed buys, it makes you wonder why the Bid is sitting at 3.335 & the Offer at 4.145. Knowledge is a wonderful thing, as not everything can be what it appears. The holdings registry will be interesting next Month, to see if a pattern is emerging. More downside for global markets this afternoon ?

Hi Spud, yep futures are pointing to a down day. Volatility index’s up, global trade forecast to fall & Asian markets having a bad year. The end of this economic cycle is looming, let’s hope it’s a good roller coaster for trading. Serious money to be made !.

Discussions to revise the terms to allow the draw down of the remaining $6m. Plus discussions with other potential ‘investors’ to provide further funding. So it’s business as usual: ‘Marketing & Sales’

There could still be selling but with different tactics being used. For a few days now I’ve notice off book sweep orders. The last being at 4.31p. VWAP is currently sitting just above at 4.3373. Mid spread is 4.375, Maybe the selling has moved from after hours to during ?

Hi Spud, in general if a sp collapses, only buy if you consider it to have bottomed & you see high volume buying + you are aware of the reason for the fall. Don’t just blindly buy because it is cheap, it could stay at that price level or take another leg down.

Hi Schach, something could indeed be brewing or nothing at all. Why have they ‘paused’, because without doubt the company needs it’s income stream. There could be a regulatory reason, which could be due to a good or bad event or simply that they are having a break. They are technically an investor & thus can sell when they like. This can end up being good, bad or status quo. It’s anyone’s guess. The stock market is all about managing risk, if I had a profit of 10% I personally would take it, but that decision of cause is up to you.

Hi Schach, problem is ‘volume’. This can tic up on low volume in the absence of Riverfort. But many here hold large volumes of stock. Think of the volumes Riverfort were selling. Once sales start going through at say £50k worth, the sp will drop back. Without volume, this is just an illusion & possibly a trading trap. Those spreads can be very costly on say £5k worth, £445 + fees ?.

aimtomakemoney hi, how does the order book work, does the order book set the share price, who might be trading in it, do they hold inventory that they may wish to sell. Why was Riverforts sales placed off book ? Ain’t as simple as it appears.

Take the rose coloured glasses off & read the 27th June RNS. ‘Under going concern’ it clearly states that the group has not met the requirements for receipt of the next tranche. You have been advised by the company. This can progress in a few ways, successor to Riverfort, takeover approach or de-listing. Re takeover, Comcast is currently buying Sky’s shares in the hope of holding 51% & taking it over. The issue here is that AMC can not sell it’s shares at 4p. A potential buyer could be buying at 4p in the open market but they are not, so why would they want to buy at 50p. This is the stock market not fairyland.

ManuelDexterity hi, I guess your hoping for the stock price to rise so you can sell at a higher price ? This wont occur by it’s self. Fresh money has to be introduced & it’s unlikely to come from long term holders that can’t afford to input many more money. Their money is already in place & it’s value is calculated at the current share price. ‘Any rise will be funded by potential new speculators’.

Sounds like your moving into trading. You may not realise it but you have just graduated from being a PI investor, well dune ! FT250 stocks are ok. Look for stocks that are actively traded in the book & for those that move by a daily range equal to say 3%. That’s my daily target with £10k. Some have algo’s that move the stock, weighted to a commodity. There’s a lot more to it than this but it’s a start.

Or the speculators that have bought recently on anticipation of a news driven event will get despondent & take their money elsewhere ? Sometimes people sell not because they want too but because the money is needed elsewhere, say covering shorts etc, end of Month bills.

Hi Maybach, if there are less sales than buys, theoretically the sp should rise. If the buys are at higher prices, based on trade value. This is where order book management comes in. Is a rise sustainable or is it just a temporary illusion ? Riverfort have just been allocated more shares. Are they a medium or long term investor or are they an avenue to distribute shares into the market ? The answer to your question is for you to decide

Spud, look at the algo activity in the book. This is how a liquid stock trades. The Pro’s lost money yesterday so a bounce was likely today. 60p looks about tops though & there could be more downside. See how these stocks trade & you can easily start making £300 a day with £10k & finish before lunch.

Well dune Spud, another £642 for me too. A quick in & out, reduces risk.

As I said, I usually trade the book, on liquid stocks. That requires a knowledge of how it is set up & who is trading in it. It’s nothing like it was in Sasa’s day. Very little as to specific company fundamentals, which is all PI’s focus on. I have given hints about this over the last few years, which is more than anyone else does on these bb’s. As you can now see with TCG the Pro’s have sold out & it is now left to price decay, as PI's sell. That’s why I didn’t recommend it for trading, as most here would buy too late & exit too late or treat it as an investment.

Hi, we discussed GAP a while ago. Take a look at TCG on your level 2, it’s a reasonable example. Currently down about 25%, due to large volume sold in the pre market. I’m not recommending trading it as heavily traded by algo’s & appears to be weighted down. Just an EG.
