It’s common for stocks to be shorted & then stock bought at the bottom for voting rights. Look at Flybe, a consortium tried to rescue it, but was out voted. In most cases shareholders are wiped out, in a D4E. Very sad for a wonderful historic company like Thomas Cook & crippling for loyal shareholders. For examples also look at Interserve & Debenhams.

Noloss hi, in answer to your previous question, I would expect a price similar to Riverforts contract ie an average of the low & high over a period of time. ‘If’ this is occurring now then the recent low is 1.61, you will have to guess at the high price. If say a three Month period, then possibly 3.12p, equals about 2.36p. However takeovers are rarely at a premium, these days. Anyone can instruct a market maker or prop shop to short & obtain voting rights at the lowest price possible. D4E’s are a form of takeover, which often involves shorting. It’s common for wealthy shareholders to launch a bid but they can’t take on the Pro’s. I think that it was Flybe where that was tried last, at grate expense to some. On the TV all that will be reported is that the company has been rescued & some jobs will be saved. But no mention of the process. Shareholders get wiped out & what’s left is asset stripped. Alan hi, 5 years is a long time, everyone has to retire at some point. Marketing & sales are the business model at present & the only source of income. Everything else is irrelevant, just a PI distraction. Unfortunately like the shorting many can’t see it or don’t want too.

Sansavater hi, actually it’s the opposite, I hold you all in the highest regard as loyal investors & I don’t like to see people taken advantage of. As you are aware all that is discussed here are the very basics & as such no one is learning. Least of all making money. I have stated to TDT in the past that it is the wrong subject matter. Sadly all of these retail bb’s are the same. I watch price action & look on the bb’s to see if it is being discussed, sadly it’s usually something irrelevant. Eg an oil stock with a massive short covering UT, just at the time that oil has bottomed & the futures contract is nearing it’s end, all that is posted is that someone is watching oil tankers out of his window. Over about the last 5 years that I have been posing on this site, I have tried to widen peoples views by hinting about what the Pro’s involved may be doing. It makes some think & others view with disbelief. I have mentioned before that if you want to make money you need to be learning about how the industry works, as it’s the industry that controls what goes on. If you think my posts are blunt, I have friends who work in many areas of the industry & they are very condescending, but then they can afford to be. I find it unbelievable that no one on this bb understands the placing process but then when Crede was dumping shares & the trader that occupied the Vidacos a/c at the time, was buying, no one mentioned that either.

Today’s aftermarket ‘transaction’ is at 1.8p, one of it’s lowest priced yet. Good to see that every one fully understands the process involved. Not much missed here !.

I would say that this is highly possible in a couple of years or so, based on the current dilution & compounded shareholder selling. There is no let up with the dilution, even during the pfs Week, when a pause could have seen a recovery in the share price. Large holdings selling off. The all time low was a tenth of a penny. But if there is an insolvency issue the wonderful asset could be sold off for as little as £1. Assets are only worth what someone is prepared to pay for them. Keep an eye on Thomas Cook’s D4E to see how shareholders can get wiped out. Following Interserve, Flybe & Debenham’s this year. This is why sales are the most important factor here.

Solis hi, are they selling into the market ? the transaction is often ‘posted’ in the aftermarket. If they are & the size is say 500,000 who’s on the other side of the trade ? You know that PI’s end up with the stock, so how is that reconciled ?. And who does populate the others a/c ? What was the point of the Vidacos a/c ?. Does any of this affect the current business model ? Curious isn’t it

There is obviously no problem issuing RNS’s as a much wanted RNS has just arrived.
Also two trades this morning so far, purchases at 2.14p, increasing the stock by a massive 5.94%. The value’s are only £43 & £25 but better than nothing. Every little helps… Sales.

Hi Spud, it’s possible that the recent selling was the end of the Jim a/c. Things appear to have settled now but when value has been built up in the price, ‘price weighted’, I’m sure you will see an aftermarket trade again. Gamer hi, this is a very sophisticated industry & nothing like what it appears. Would you place money on the table at a Casino & class it as an investment, because this is the same. There’s no money tree, you only make money by taking it off someone else. What occurs here should be a good example ie PI’s inputing money & Pro’s extracting it. This happens with all stocks in one form or another. What’s discussed on these retail boards is so far away from what is actually occurring. Constantly reading about nickel, isn’t making anyone rich here, is it.

Good observations, you need to understand this if you want to make money in today’s ‘computerised’ market. Order book set up & how it works. How the register constituents affect the process. Most important here is the Riverfort sales process. Otherwise it’s analogue investing in a digital algo age.

Gamer hi, it’s highly probable that the Jim a/c trader has depleted the position. It’s possible that this was acquired to trade the pfs spike, which was difficult to trade with about £800k, due to a lack of volume. There was a lot of dilution that Week, which is difficult for Pro’s to trade against. It’s also possible that one of the other three may be following likewise. If that occurs wider than usual spreads may become the norm. There has been a lot of selling recently, which is reflected in the share price. Will you see an updated register, take a guess

TDT, I’m surprised that you haven’t figured that out, considering the reference made to the PDF that you posted a couple of Month ago. Is it so difficult to join the dots ?

Excellent to see strong daily sales figures, let’s hope it continues. Now that the large holding has been sold off, there are no obstacles.

Sale at 2.33p, have they finally capitulated & reduce the trade price below 2.70p. Excellent to see a sale. It must be hard work with all the other selling being conducted at present.

Hi Speedy, my post was in relation to the company funding which is the reason for the listening. The share price is irrelevant to the share placing process. My understanding is that an effort has been made not to dilute the share price, as PI’s complained about the Crede method of dumping stock into the market. I was under the impression that LTH’s are happy with this but as one poster posted, it appears short term or day trading is difficult due to the mechanics. I am surprised however that the Jim account appears to be selling off in light that this may have special trading privileges. It is said that new comers can struggle with established set ups.
