There is no disputing the value of the resource. The big question is who takes the project forward, most probably not AMC, as it’s an explanation company. The fact that the price tag dropped to £9m last year without any interest should be noted. Based on previous acquisitions, I would not be surprised to see a purchase at a price far less than the current market cap. Aquarius Platinum & Bumi, both ‘working’ mines, are examples of this. As successful as the current business model is, no one lives forever. So for status quo to continue for decades to come, new management will be needed. Alternatively it’s a sale at the best price achievable. And that might more to do with stock market mechanics, than asset valuation.
