I saw a post a few years ago where a Guy stated that he had invested around £270k in a single stock & the position was worth £90k at the time. Fortunes are made & lost in the Stock Market. Sadly for most PI’s, 95%+ it’s the latter but no one admits it. Better odds in your local Casino & you get free sandwiches.

The time to sell was a long time ago, this has been in a Downtrend since it was £14. The 2020 low was 7p so might see that revisited, if only to ‘balance’ the overall macro channel. Not that far away now.

Re your question, I think that you have answered that in your post.

My contribution is that the current SP circumstances is unusual. The recent large UT looks to be Short covering. Covering at the bottom extracts value from the Market Cap, so this appears to be a re-rate. The Industry participants don’t usually extract value from the Market Cap with their activities.

Few, As far as I’m concerned this is untradeable. I wouldn’t consider buying unless there is a clear bottom. Problem is that the Algo’s are programmed to give false signs. I’ve seen PI’s buying only to be followed by opposing trades extracting the increased value. Pauses to allow for PI buying before the selling is resumed. That said this is nothing out of the ordinary with today’s computerised system. Better odds at your local Casino.

Remember all trades are initially Short & some say that they are settled with borrowed stock as well. Borrowed stock is Short by default & can increase someone’s Short position.

I wonder what will happen to the managed Client Account. I assume it must be being hedged down. It is possible that it will be transferred to another listing. If that happens there should be a torrent of RNS’s.

This has been in a downtrend for over a year. Why is it now going into the FT250, is it only because other stocks have lower Market Caps ?

Without a doubt this is in a Downtrend & due to the FT250 entry it’s not just a case of filling Fraser’s orders. Client orders are usually filled at lower prices using a hedging process reconciling the profit from the Short with the loss on the Long to lower the position price without loss. An example of this was yesterdays closing data, UT & After Market, coupled with higher than usual daily volume. Known as a walking-it-down-process ie in steps. Obviously buying volume is not enough to stop the decent. This will complete when the Client orders are filled. Take a guess at what price that might be ?

Agneissearner hi, your obviously a clever chap so perhaps you can shine some light onto this:

A Co floats / ipo on the market. In which the shares are initially bought by underwriters / Investment Banks, who later sell the shares into the market. This can cause the SP to drop. PI’s then buy the shares & the value is approximately ‘returned’ to the Market Cap, known as capital inflow. Lets say it’s £7m. So I would assume obviously wrongly that if a Co is dissolved at that point, the Shareholders would receive a proportion of that £7m. Over time an asset is established & later sold for £5m & upon being dissolved the Shareholders receive a proportion of the £5m, received from the sale proceeds. But shouldn’t this have been a proportion of £12m ? Are We saying that the listing in it’s self was worthless. If not, where did the Market Cap value go ? What’s your thoughts…

Sharebel, DYOR is spot on & it’s easily dune. But don’t just limit to the here & now. Look through the RNS’s over the past 12 Months for the Client orders being filled. Your correct the SP is taken down to accommodate. Commencing at 28p, 21p & the current price level. If Oil continues dropping 15p might be the next price level. Hedging for Professional participants is key & included in the position management. Rest assured these Professional participants will not be sitting on losses regardless of the higher price levels that the stock was purchased for them at. The above actions does impact the Market Cap as all can see. Issue is that the only source of increase comes from Joe Public, which is less capital inflow than outflow.

I have mentioned this before:

OPEC+ has enlarged & as a result will be putting more Oil on to the market. This action has been delayed until the end of Q1 & might be extended until Q3. But the increased production is inevitable. Unless demand increases some Oil traders have predicted that Oil might drop to $50. This information has been known for Months.

How this impacts TLW’s SP is anyone’s guess but if a new CEO wants to reset TLW’s position & this is an ideal opportunity, I wouldn’t rule out dilution. The only reason why Co’s list on stock Markets is for ‘cheap’ funding. Cheap as in no interest cost.

Tuan6, there doesn’t need to be Shorters. Listings are managed by Investment Banks which trade as Proprietary & Agency. Simple as that.

Well were in agreement. Due to the recent concerns over the UK economy causing a currency issue imported food & other goods are forecast to increase by 20%. UK farmers are having to increase prices to cover the latest Inheritance Tax costs. UK electrification is going to cost well over £100bn. Where’s the money coming from ? Bottom end EV’s cost £32k to £40k & replacement batteries £15k. I ask will it be economical for minimum wage workers to continue working. Plans to turn motorway services into entertainment centres, while thousands of car charge, every 200 miles or so. For maximum battery life don’t deplete less than 20% & don’t charge more than 80%. Difficult not to see the economy stalling. If all the vehicles in Europe were electric & half in the US that would only cut global emissions by 14%.

James, it’s to all our loss that UK Governments don’t know that & chose to buy Gas from Norway. Which has the highest current account surplus in Europe. Ie zero government debt. The UK could be the same exporting energy to Europe but they chose to bankrupt the country instead. A tiny island of 70m people won’t stop global warming by themselves but they can radically reduce the quality of life for the population.

Hi PGee & thanks for the reply, I have data from that morning & it does not show 20m, so might be a reporting error. However I have recently see use of special trades. This trade type only flashes up for a few minutes & in some cases the platform needs to be set to show the detail. They are hidden trades & can be used at the end of day to adjust the stocks closing values, plus other things. Yes in the past there has been large closing UT’s, all part of the management & possibly the same thing. Keep your eye on Oil for an indicator of possible stock direction moves.

PGee hi, Thursdays volume was 4m534,419. Did you see the volume at 20m534,419 or another value ? And which info service was that on ? I’m wondering if that was a reporting error or something else, thanks in advance.

I’d be careful with Bond refinancing. If the new CEO decides to reduce the debt via stock dilution it could be disastrous for Shareholders. Or at least a financial hit. It does make you wonder why this is sitting at 4 year lows. Usually the stock drops to these levels for technical reasons & rises swiftly before PI’s realise it’s going up.

Re cable rates, there are concerns over the UK’s finances & management of, food is forecast to rise by around 20% plus imported electrical goods.

Hi Anton, do you recall the RNS stating that one of the large Investors, which has several divisions in it’s make up, was complaining about the Trading style. So were trying something different. It’s just part of a ‘Trade’ & as usual nothing to do with Tullow.

Onsolidground, I know precisely why, it’s the listing ‘mechanics’. But as it was clearly indicated on Friday & for whatever reason participants here don’t want to discuss that on this bb. The Share is the means / investment product by which to access the market / system. The Industry Professionals manage the listing not Tullow the Oil Co. But there is no interest in understanding how the Stock Market works, so your left with guessing. Put another way, some here have no interest in understanding what they have invested in. Maybe they think that the Tullow listing works independently to the Stock Market.
