Stanley, re D4E, take a look at GKP’s history. I don’t think debtors received shares just value from the market cap.

Example: it’s sp was diluted 100 to 1 to furnish debt, taking it to 1 penny. Which extracted value from the market cap. Then there was a 1 to 100 consolidation & back to £1. After it fell to around 85p before recovering to current levels. The consolidation did not recover the value for previous shareholders.

In general trading profit derives from the general public, any shortfall is made up from the market cap, which is visible in a descending graph.

Chriscom, few if any question… before computerisation only trades instigated by Human’s moved share prices. The system was radically changed to accommodate computers. All listing positions are managed & worked by professionals. This action, the mechanics generates the graphs. If you know who the professionals are, their Co set up. The LSE platform mechanics & the business model that is applied, then you have an edge, but of course no guarantees.

I’m not so sure about this heading. I have an idea that dependent on the Co fundamentals & the Oil price, that upon volume completion, this will take another leg down. I base this on the listing mechanics being professionally worked. I hope for any invested here that I am wrong. We will find out in the coming months.

Xxnjr, the only reason why Co’s list on Stock Markets is for funding. Some AIM stocks fund their operations & payrolls including six figure salaries, completely from issuing shares. One I know of traded for 16 years without making a penny, apart from when it invested monies from the listing dilution in to something else.

As a Retail Investor you focus 100% on the listed Co’s. The Industry in the background is far more interesting.

In a Warehouse goods use to be stacked vertically on pallets. Then the format was ‘radically changed’ to accommodate computers. Now goods are arranged horizontally on the floor with robots moving above.

Before computers Humans needed to actually buy & sell to move share prices. As a Retail DIY participant, are you analogue investing in a digital age ?

Correction, electrification costing well over £100bn. Where’s the money coming from ?

If what we hear & read takes place this country will change beyond recognition. Up to 40% of jobs to go to AI over the next 7 years. Electrification costing well over £1bn. Within 10 years total Tax receipts to be less than Benefit & pensions cost etc resulting in unthinkable cuts like the NHS. Meanwhile other countries still use coal & export fossil fuels achieving a surplus current account. A fool wonders blindly into the abyss.

Hello, anyone here use Level 2 or are a long term holder ?

Level 2 shows 10 year & 20 year graphs at an SP of around 1000 between 2017 & 2019. Yet other free to use graphs show it no higher than around 400.

Does anyone know of a reason for this, has there been dilution ?

Emerald if you want answers you need to refer to that thick manual detailing all aspects, that your Broker furnished you with when you opened your account. Alternately DYOR maybe even visit the bars in & around Canary Wharf because no one chit chatting on these Retail bb’s, knows anything more than you. When it comes to Stock Market Mechanics.

Are you sure that the Shorts are used for the most basic web definitions …. ? Stock Market mechanics are far from simple.

Servalan, I think you have just nailed it & thanks for highlighting that ! The only reason why Co’s list is for cheap interest free funding. Genuine market reaction, now that would be unusual. I assume by that you mean Humans actually buying.

Hi, are there any participants here that focus on the Mechanics that generate the Graphs & the firms working the listings, as oppose to just the listed companies ? ie the in depth workings of the Stock Market & it’s computerisation ?

When is a bottom not a bottom, when it’s part of a Walking-It-Down process. This process looks like steps on the graph. Mechanics: the SP is taken down a step & Long position is reconciled with the in profit Short, to flatten the loss on the Long. In effect moving the Long position down without loss, also know as Hedging. The process can also include technical bounces. Conclusion: it’s very difficult to second guess when a stock has bottomed. Only the Industry Professionals involved know this.

Some say that as Company’s sell their shares at floatation & don’t trade. The share price can be viewed as being in name only. As price movements can have nothing to do with the underlying Company whatsoever.

This is a standard Industry trade & I am surprised that they have chosen to close this up at this time, considering where Oil is & that OPEC+ are increasing supply next Month. However it is the 3rd Friday of the Month this Week, so possibly some positions need to be closed or face additional fees. The Trade will be fully closed at 52p.

Hi Geng, yep that is the obvious answer but… as we now know the true value of the listing was 2p in old money & that was reflected in the graph for years, right back to Jan 2020. I guess the input value from PI’s over the 16 years was around £1bn. It just doesn’t add up to me. Was the $5m figure known in Jan 2020 ?

Deposit sold for $5m. £5m paid to Shareholders & the Market Cap drops £5m.

So did the £5m come from the sale proceeds or the Market Cap ? can’t be both or can it ?.

Hi Super, no secret formula then. I’m sure that everyone invested here is in the same position. I suspect that this is business as usual but at a wider frequency. The end of the world scenario always plays out to be just another trade & we have not seen a deluge of exit RNS’s. Only issue is that filling Client orders at lower & lower prices extracts value from the Market Cap & thus a lower SP. Whatever happens short term this should make some sort of recovery even if it is delayed until the back end of the year. Good luck to all here as loyal shareholder’s you deserve it.

Supercooper hi, I acknowledge your point. There are Oil Traders that don’t think OPEC will implement the supply increase but unless it is delayed again, I think that the market might get taken by surprise. I have a question for you, I hope it’s is not intrusive & I ask with genuine intent. Are you making money from this listing, because I’m not. If so are you a long term holder, trading, shorting, spread betting, other or sitting on the side lines. As a knowledgeable participant here I would appreciate your reply.

I post this twice last year & I can see that it is not mentions here so I will reiterate. Opec+ has enlarged & as a result will be increasing it’s Oil supply into the market. Last year Oil Traders predicted that this increase will cause the Oil price to drop to around $50. The increase has been delayed for two quarters & is now scheduled to be implemented next Month, May. The market is already oversupplied.

Additionally talks are to be held with Iran re it’s nuclear program. If successful this could also lead to Iran increasing it’s Oil output.

As you will be aware commodities contracts are traded with Longs & Shorts & the wider the oscillation the more profit involved. This maybe the reason for the recent increase in price. Ie the rise before the fall.
